For my first videos since my return as HamptonRoadsTVFan..: (all from same Nov. 1987 tape; but two clips I had not uploaded before)

First, WAVY Daily News tease with Arthur Fennell:

WAVY promo for High Rollers:

WAVY promo for The People's Court (my previous channel had a similar promo from May 1988):

From WYMT's website...they have now uploaded a full newscast from Monday, October 21st, 1985. The video is titled wrong because Saturday, October 19th, 1985 was when WYMT signed on the air. The video features Steve Crabtree (news), Karen Parks (weather), and Gary Johnson (sports). The original commercials are included as well. You can view this on http://www.wkyt.com/wymtnews.

I just uploaded a video from my hometown ABC affiliate.

It was from Sunday, January 12, 1995

WJBF is the ABC affiliate for Augusta, GA (DMA #114). These are rare clips I just recently stumbled upon from an old VHS tape, rare as in there are no traces of any video from an Augusta station from the 1990s anywhere on the internet, and is probably one of the last recorded samples out there other than what the station has in their archives. This is also a rare recording from the station's "Spartan Radiocasting" days, a good 5 years before the station and it's sisters were purchased by Media General.

The video features an 11pm topical (during an episode of America's Funniest Home Videos), and 11pm weather tease, and then the full 11pm news open. The tape abruptly cuts off about half a minute after the open, as it was taped over. The video features Paul Herdtner (now at WDAF-TV) and the late and great Michelle Lima. The open montage has a brief shot of former mayor Bob Young at the anchor desk when he was weeknight anchor in the 1990s.

If anybody knows the name of the music (I've heard it before), please let me know! :D

It's Prime News by Jerome Gilmer, a composer based out of Denver, CO. Gilmer did some theme music for soon-to-be ex-NBC flagship station, and soon-to-be CBS O&O, KCNC Channel 4.

A couple of really rare sports clips, both of which I had not seen in awhile:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMbQeL4hYYI ('86 ABC "WWOS" opening; this is the "starfield" version, and the top--the "spanning the globe" intro-- is missing)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DHqWnrOuLQ (NBC "NFL '85" in-game; the game being highlighted is Denver against the L.A. Rams; the official name then was "NFL '85 Update")

Something a bit different, but great graphic design...in Spanish, no less. The network only lasted some three years.

Telenoticias 1995:

(possibly from the network's first broadcast; based in Miami)

*"A new level of excellence in international news coverage" promo with spinning globe

*Opener

*3D ID

More: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niBZKwgm6PA

*In addition to the promo above and some break bumpers...

*Vida (lifestyles) segment opener

*Negocios (business) segment opener

(Isn't that music package beautiful?)

Long close: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iktitT6vs74

Two years later, CBS gained control and added its name to the network...

Telenoticias 1997 (transition):

*Notice the CBS Telenoticias signage and promotions though the Telenoticias graphics appear at some points

*A Telenoticias promo using the America's Station production music (sounds like 615's Pinnacle?) from FirstCom: "The Best Way to See the World Closer"

CBS Telenoticias 1997:

*Headlines

*Opener with flying CBS eye and world element: "CBS Telenoticias...world news in 30 minutes."

*Better copy of 1997 news theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZWl4CBef7Q (the beginning sounds like CBS, too!)

Some American stations carried some of Telenoticias' newscasts, at least in late 1994 or 1995:

WSNS, KUBD (now KPXC), XHRIO (now the Fox border blaster in Brownsville), and KMSG among them. Also Mexico City's XHTVM (a station with far more than a colorful history, which needs to be read to be fully understood) rebroadcasted some newscasts. The look is very nice, and I almost wonder if it's the same firm that did WTVJ in this time frame and/or the same designers as WSVN's Newsplex given the Miami connection.
