Hi everyone,

I've been here before under p988 but had to create a new account. This video isn't really a newscast or news open or promo but rather a tribute to, since someone mentioned it earlier on this thread, the now-defunct WBNB-TV in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Using some of the video available on Youtube and photos I found on a Facebook tribute group to the station, I created this tribute to the station and its people. It was edited using Sony Vegas Platinum HD. I hope you enjoy.

KCBA open from the early 90's (with applause, no for real):

I'm guessing the applause is not truly part of the opening...this clip is possibly part of a Craig Kilbourn skit during his time on The Late Late Show or even The Daily Show.

If you'll notice the NBC peacock in the lower left, I imagine this is a fairly recent clip perhaps from "Tonight" or "Late Night" with Kilborn hawking his (now cancelled) Fox show.

WCBS "It's 2" Promo. Starts at the 5 minute mark:

The biggest irony is that, this is a LOCAL image campaign which has the budget/feel of a NATIONAL campaign. (Can you believe the same year this was when CBS had "TV You Can Feel (aka You can Feel it on CBS)??" If only the network had the cojones to use it as the NATIONAL promo who knew it would give ABC and NBC a run for its money. :bang:
