WITI 1982 News Promo. You've got to see this one! One of the VERY best ever:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F9qo0tnh3c

That account has a TON of WITI promos!

Including the "The Winners" campaign which apparently was a Frank Gari piece!

And this one about some "Satellite" doodad... They're not going to catch on.

And this retrospective package from when they moved to their present building.

KBTV Channel 9 in Denver

1980 news open with first segment dialogue

1980 News brief

It features Ward Lucas and Linda Benzel (both are no longer with the station), Stormy Rottman with weather (died in 1991), and I have no clue who this sportcaster is.

This was when Channel 9 in Denver was KBTV and an ABC affiliate. Now it's KUSA since 1984, and it is affiliated with the NBC Peacock.

I found some amazing news-related and television ID-related videos on Youtube:

KMBC 10:00pm News Clip (11/20/1983)

(Includes the closing credits to a local discussion program on KMBC called "Sunday, Nuclear Sunday" and that night's news open using Gari Media Group's "So Good To Turn To")

WBRZ Baton Rouge News Clip (1985)

WAGA News Close (1986)

(This clip features the final story of the newscast and the close using "Tuesday8" by Tuesday Productions)

WAGA 5 Promos (1984)

(Some promos feature the graphics that were used on other stations like WDVM, KGMB, and other stations across the United States and Australia)

WBRE Eyewitness News at Sunrise (1988)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TegXwpkdlA8 (The open features an interesting cut from Michael Randall's "NewsCenter II" music package)

Super Time Sign-Off (Late 1970s?)

(This is a rare signoff of "Super Time" from sometime in the late 1970s. I do believe that KTSF used this channel during the evening hours in the 1970s)

WAGA 5 Promos (1984)

(Some promos feature the graphics that were used on other stations like WDVM, KGMB, and other stations across the United States and Australia)

The "People Make it Special" promos also feature what sounds like the "WNDU 1991 News Theme"

Judging from the promos in these commercial breaks from 1996, KCRA had a fantastic promo dept. in the mid-90s. Very theatrical, not "newsy"...

at 3:48

at 7:56

Note the "Where The News Comes First" motif in the music on both spots.

WOAY-TV Newscast Clip (5/25/1987)

* Note the announcer voicing the news open. Kinda reminds me of a somewhat bad radio announcer.

WOWK-TV News Story (1/1984)

* Note the news set is 1970s-esque. The font is also 1970s-esque.

Tampa TV News from 1985

Part 1: Clips from WTOG, WFLA (then WXFL), WTSP, and WTVT. Teases and partial opens from the latter 3 at the 1:55 mark.

Part 2: Continuation of clips from all four and then a complete 11pm open with no voiceover from WTVT at the end of the video.

WFLA NewsWatch 8, 6:00 Report from October 1984, the last six minutes with near full close.

1977 WTVH-TV Tribute

Great montage of the "Part of Your Life" theme, which is very underrated. Used on Meredith Corp. stations in the late 1970's.
