What other stations? I guess I'm not up to speed on this. I know WTHR, and now KNXT.

From an article looking back at his career when he retired in 2006...

"He was at KNXT-TV, a CBS station in Los Angeles now known as KCBS; he was an anchor and reporter at WNBC-TV in New York City; he served as an NBC correspondent in Vietnam; returned to anchoring and reporting at WABC-TV in New York City; at WBBM-TV in Chicago; at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis; WTTV-TV in Washington, DC; KHON-TV in Honolulu; WLS-TV in Chicago; and KRON-TV in San Francisco, from whence he returned to Hawaii to work at KITV."

I'm wondering if this was after their apparently disastrous 96 format change. That may explain why it's so simple. Also, Diane Willis from WNEV!

Do we have any clips of that? Plus it’s weird seeing who keeps popping up in L.A. - no wonder CBS 2’s slogan was once the station of the people!

Some WQAD gems for you - both were heard on the NMSA but haven’t been uncovered until now.

This is the talent bump using the Palmer News Package and the mystery male VO, who was a long-term client of WQAD and Iowa TV in general.

This is the open using NS2000 Plus, same VO.

Hopefully there’s more - still looking for the one with the 1984 Theme.

Raymie, I checked the NMSA and it was also used by KJEO (now KGPE) in Fresno as the "KJEO 1993 News Theme".

EDIT: I did check both the "KJEO 1988 News Theme" and the "KJEO 1993 News Theme". Both of these themes had a 5-note signature which could be part of a package.

Weren't KJEO and KIDK sisters under Retlaw and, for a short time, Fisher?

Ya like old WFMZ? 'Cuz here's some old WFMZ — more accurately, a full documentary on the occasion of its 40th anniversary!

There's a treat right at the start, too (a snippet of a late 70s/early 80s open; there's another snippet later), and the station history is fascinating! You'll learn things like:

-The transmitter used to start the station was found in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where WHFV (also on channel 69) had failed the year before WFMZ signed on the air

-The original newsgathering vehicles were AMC Pacers

-Tons of other stuff!

There's also a sampling of clips from the station's other local programming ventures. After the first half hour, it gets a little deep.

Two more from the 20 years ago (+1 day, sorry) file:

WTTV Bloomington/Indianapolis: December 15, 1997 10pm

Interesting that this is treated as a "Paid Program" (fine print at the start of the newscast...)

WTHR Indianapolis: December 15, 1997

Two Seven Network promos with NBC music packages:

ADS7 (Adelaide) promo from 1985 with "Let's All Be There" featuring Kevin Crease, Anne Fulwood and Keith Martyn:

Seven News promo from 1988, shortly after they began using "The Mission":
