1993 WSOC Charlotte 5:30 P.M. Eyewitness News closing (What is the name of the music that is playing here? It sounds great).

According to NMSA, the WNDU 1991 News Theme by Collier Concepts. Its weird because it says that WSOC used it from 1985-1996. It also mentions WROC using it from 1990-1991, before WNDU starting using it.

There were at least three revisions of the package as used by WSOC, and VTS is responsible for some of them.

Yeah, Collier Concepts came up with the original promotional imaging, but I don't know if they directly produced even the original music.

Tom (eyeontv) Buckley told me his reel-to-reel tape copy of the WDVM music said Frank Becker Music on it. So my guess is that Collier Concepts *commissioned* the original music package from Becker?

And yes, what I recall Hal Brown telling me was that VTS licensed that music for a syndicated package, I swear he did say he remembered WSOC when I asked if it was for WSOC. I will have to ask him again sometime.

Either way, it all being under Collier Concepts for now isn't wholly inaccurate, though maybe in the future, if all the information is actually nailed down, I could ask NMSA to see if they would split the original (Frank Becker-produced?) campaign music and the (almost certainly VTS-produced?) syndicated news package.

WLS Chicago Eyewitness News late edition from 3/6/87; listen at the top as Jerry Taft (in for Steve Deshler) is billed "on weather," and Tim Weigel is billed "with sports" (normally, these would be reversed, as the weatherman would be billed "with weather," and the sports anchor "on sports").

WPXI, "The First Edition: 5:30 Live", 1983. A very tightly formatted newscast, by the looks of it. Also, TuesdayC:

WSYX "Good Morning Columbus" in 1988. The surprise here is the Spirit of Ohio jingle ID!

WSAV in 1985. Some very subtle TVbD influence, surprising for 1985!:

WJTV in 1991. This is a cut of the CBS Television You Can Feel theme:

KHJ in 1986, a news tease with the Count on 9 theme and a rare look at this era of the station:

WJCL in 1982 with commercials and a news open at 12 minutes in:
