Apparently BDA/PROMAX posts items from its archives every week or so. Here's one from KPIX in 1986

Don't remember that part of the KPIX mid-80s set with the Alamo Square view in the background, but it's a nice touch

From stevations' channel; here's a 1984 WAVY Daily News promo (apologies for the very poor quality).

Considering the mention of lead anchor Bob Grip handling the Wednesday's Child segment; this was probably early 1984 (it would be later that year when Terry Zahn was promoted)

More WISH-TV:

1987 NewsCenter II close, clean!:

1994 "The Best Gets Better" 40th anniversary promo:

Not much else of note that was added.

Finally on NewsCenterII.

This one almost got the full bumper

What is the status of reels of that package?

Some good jazzy cuts they used for the late night news on KNBC missing as well.

Just came across this live overnight - near 2 AM - news update from WMC back in early 1994. This during that nationwide trend where local stations went "24-hour". Joyce Peterson, now at WATN, anchors from what had to be very near her debut on Memphis television. Not surprisingly this is where the newest anchors/reporters began.

The end also features the classic WMC ID of the era.

This isn't really a news open, but I love it. It's the title sequence for Whicker's World, a U.K. series featuring globe-trotting reports/travelogues by journalist Alan Whicker. This one is from his 1980 California episode:

According to a YT comment, the spectacular final shot isn't even a montage!

Don't know if these have been posted or not, but some great 1970s film opens of WPVI Action News before the MCTYW era:

Some of these could cause an epileptic seizure... But still great history of the Delaware Valley's News Leader.

WLS EWN full 6 P.M. edition, April 11, 1983 (Main story: the Chicago election of that year). I'll never forget it (from seeing the opening from The 80s TV Theme SuperSite all those years ago) how the announcer opened the newscast:

"This is Eyewitness News with Joel Daly, Dick Johnson for Fahey Flynn, Dr. Dave Iser's weather, Al Lerner on sports, and the Eyewitness News team."

Don't know if I spelled that weatherman's name right, but that's how I remember hearing it.

From the 2007 WWL-TV Celebrating 50 Years special:

1980 WWLTV - Eyewitness News Noon open

WWLTV -1980 Eyewitness News 6PM open - edited*

*This was shortened in the special to exclude "Jim Henderson, with Sports...and Nash Roberts, with The Weather!" to focus on Garland and Angela. If there's anyone out there who has the full intro (preceding hurly station ID cue included), please gimme a buzz! ;)

BTW, the news theme was cut in 1979 at TM Productions in Dallas, TX as part of a TV station package entitled "The Best Things In Life."
