From goldenarmable (commercials included in video):

2 segments from a 1982 CBS Evening News broadcast with Morton Dean (guessing a weekend edition)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzMIeuvWp9k

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NNK8TS8SJc

WNEW tease/intro from 1983 (starts with a brief promo for CBS' Scarecrow and Mrs. King followed by a brief channel jump, and the "jungle" theme is still used here)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJFSEf1Nx_E

Another 1983 New York clip; this time from WABC's Eyewitness News

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7A_GXy77dM

And for something more recent, the sports report by WMAQ's Jon Kelley (from the United Center before Game 2 of the 1996 NBA Finals, as a couple of Seattle players are warming up behind him {think I spotted Gary Payton} and close of the newscast)

1980 WBBM Pro Report Intro with Johnny Morris and Bruce Roberts (Roberts being a largely forgotten WBBM/CBS Sports personality during the 1960s and early 1970s)

I posted some more videos from western PA. Surprisingly, I found some WTAJ IDs from 1988--not expecting this since this was recorded from Greensburg PA which is outside of the Altoona/Johnstown DMA.

Also, I found a commercial from WJAC advertising the grand opening of the Peacock Shoppe--stocked with NBC Merchandise!

CBS Sports "The NCAA Today" from 1983 (with Brent Musburger, Pat O'Brien, and Ara Parseghian; the featured game is Michigan/Illinois from Illinois Memorial Stadium in Champaign, IL). Apparently, "The NCAA Today" was like "The NFL Today," only for the college game. This clip includes local content from WCIA and WAND.

And at the beginning of the video...a young Dan Roan (before he went to WGN)!

Those KMGH opens are among the worst ever...hideous.

They're not hideous. They're edgy. KMGH was going to be the future of Denver news, with a hard-hitting, tabloid format.

Unfortunately, it didn't catch on with us idiots and it flopped.

Seriously, it's a good thing. KDVR, however, tried tabloid and was successful, though it's probably less the content and more Fox being more popular than The WB/The CW down on KWGN.
