FINALLY! NEW VIDEOS!

KAPP/KVEW Northwest Weekend (partial), 8/20/1994

CNN Headline News, when very few stations were still airing it OTA in syndication - 3/1/2004 (KIMA Yakima)

KHQ Q6 Eleven at 11 clip, December 1994 with Randy Shaw. Way better than 'NonStop Local.' One of the dumbest names for a newscast ever...

And this was previously uploaded to the old channel. KMGH 11:30am news clip from May 1994, Anne Trujillo anchoring - and this was found at the estate sale of someone who used to have C-Band satellite, so no doubt this wasn't taped in Colorado...

And one other thing I'd like to say about that huge video of NBC News graphics I posted recently: IMO, the best one was the first one, that for Today (because of how the first vestiges of Today's sunrise icon peeked over the Earth as the continent animation appeared, and then a bright aura/shine appeared from the center of that sun as the NBC News Today title wiped in, with the sunrise completing itself when the title appeared in full and Bryant Gumbel and Jane Pauley were billed by the late NBC announcer Fred Facey...

"From NBC News, this is Today...with Bryant Gumbel...and Jane Pauley."

And I discovered also that WCNC (NBC in Charlotte, NC) had "Real News" from 1989-96, but similarly, could not find visual evidence of anything using that music. I do like Charlie Van Dyke's billing on the first clip using that music (a 1989 early edition opening): "And now, Charlotte's first news...with Jesse Johnson....Tom Miller....Dr. Joe Conway with outdoor weather...and Jim Celania on sports. This is News 36 at 5:30."

That is something else! Love the circle with today's peacock, stars and "Cable 6 WCNC-TV" against the diagonal lined background, and how the News 36 title seemed to leap through the circle, and how the circle filled in with blue as the News 36 title assumed its position in the center, among other things.

Going 4 It, The History of WWJ/WDIV.

This is probably one of the best station history documentaries ever. It ranks up there with WFLA's 50th from 2005 as far as comprhensive history and even highlighting when the station struggled in the ratings.

World News Now turns 30! Never really watched the program because I was always well..asleep. Cool to see some of the anchors that have passed though there. Loved how they filmed from the newsroom and how the desk setup placed the talent sitting across from each other. Very NBC News Overnight.
