KNBC 1990 4pm preshow - there's a great wide shot at the end that shows how the 4pm set is connected to the main set

Groundbreaking set - so many stations used variants on the main set for years to come

Not sure if I would call it groundbreaking. It looks like the 4pm was somewhat normalized by this time. If you go search for more videos with this 4pm set, the groundbreaking part was how the 4pm desk was extremely low. You were able to see pretty much what the anchors were wearing. I included a quick link of a that shows what I am talking about below

Ah yes the casual low desk (or high chairs) I remember that - a take on the Live at Five format

Ground breaking was the main KNBC set this was attached to - so many stations used a variant of it

And here's a KOVR 1989 weather segment

Yet another transition period for 13...brand new station logo / graphics and News Watch package, along with a refresh of the set...but with another refresh to come months later

Here's what it looked like a few weeks prior

And here's the next change months later...skyline with blinds...

Followed by a newsroom set months after that

From my new NOLA TV archive page, here are some WWL-TV newscasts from July 22, 1996.

12 PM w/Bill Elder, Don Westbrook and Phil Johnson:

6 PM w/Dennis Woltering, Angela Hill, Mike Hoss (in for Jim Henderson) and Dave Barnes:

10 PM segment w/Nancy Russo forecast, final story and repeat of that day's Phil Johnson editorial:

From WGNO, circa March 21, 2006:

From WVUE, the end of its 9 PM newscast followed by the 2001 edition of its annual "Weathering The Storm" hurricane preparedness special:

All these came from tapes recently acquired by jacky9br (who posted the earlier WVUE Fox 8 9 PM news from 7/22/96).

Alan Krashesky weather???? Must have been his first gig at 7.

Hired as a reporter, then did weekend weather for about a year (between Jim Ramsey and Andy Avalos), though he was likely filling in, by this point. He'd be doing morning news updates sometime later that year.

By the way, despite referring to Super Tuesday, that newscast is from Sunday, March 11th.
