Samantha 2876
These things don't go that well together, but... A KCOY blooper tape from...1978? Whoa! Dig that set! Blooper reels are always hard to trust for opens, but this 1980 reel might have their news theme from the era...though that's certainly not an actual newscast at 5:11: Unfortunately, it's not all fun and games. At the start of 1994, KCAU meteorologist Tom Peterson was killed in a car crash; this tribute video includes material from various newscasts (including one from KTIV - they were still using the NBC: The Place to Be theme). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=r-ltlPtP9js;t=1709

Samantha 2876
What was WVTV doing airing the CBS Late Movie? Dig this KIMA logo!
KnoxvilleTVFan 285
That KIMA logo looks nice. Get ready for a double dose of KCRG from 1987. The best part: They are both full newscasts from that year and include different "Turn To News" opens from that period. And here are some WLOS news opens from 1999. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX17JVKaWVI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkSPUM5tw1E
TheMassMediaGeek 98
December 21st of this year (2017) will mark 65 years since the nation's second oldest UHF station that is still operating today and the oldest UHF station that never changed channel numbers (stayed on channel 43 since its entire existence), WPMT, signed on the airwaves as WSBA-TV, and gave the Susquehanna Valley another choice for TV, other than WGAL. Here is a newscast from WPMT in 1999.
bixpchiphead 105
What was WVTV doing airing the CBS Late Movie? Most, if not all Storer Broadcasting CBS affiliates did not think highly of the low rated CBS Late Movies, but they did like the option of showing syndicated fare like "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" or "Fernwood2Night" (and of course, sell the ad time therein). This left CBS to shop the late movie to other stations in such markets so the eye's ad sales team could sell "nationwide" coverage to national advertisers.

fox2 190
These are among my favorite themes (from the top shelf labelled "epic") - and ones I grew up with from three continents. The third video was recorded by me (although the clip was appropriated by ManciniTV - who didn't acknowledge my video!) ITN Weekend and Overnight News 1989 This was more or less the first theme that I loved as a kid. (and their rather elegant .) TVQ Brisbane used an even more punchy version of the powerful Ten closer used elsewhere. Forgive the insufferable anchors, and TVQ really screwed that open timing; but the close is something! CNN Earlybird News. Apart from my original blurb for my , where I wrote: "A jazzy groove and a Southern feel for your early mornings on CNN in 1990. And that name is just so 'slow hand'! This program aired via Ten Newswatch in Australia"..... I can also add that I always heard a kind of Japanese vibe to this music, which perhaps lent it a kind of 'international', 'news coming in overnight from around the world' vibe..

TexasTVNews 1366
WJBK did the same thing in 1990.
rkolsen 1675
WJBK did the same thing in 1990. I don't have the website handy (on my phone now) but check out the profile of who posted the video. Their website states that NBC made it and sent it to affiliates.
