Changes are coming to TVNewsTalk!

Recommended Posts

Change is in the air at TVNewsTalk.net! In the coming days, we plan on launching a number of exciting new services and making some minor changes to some old ones. For starters, the forum will be undergoing a size reduction. A number of forums will be merged with others or removed entirely. Here's a brief overview:

  • "The National" and "US Cable News" will be merged to become "National Television"
  • "The Weather Lab" and "AV Club" will be merged with the "Breakroom" forum due to their neglect.
  • The "Social Groups" link will be added to the header on all themes, and will be removed.
  • A "Promoted News" forum will be added under "General Messages from TVNT" More details below.

We will also be bringing back the "portal" page. If you've been with TVNT for a while, you'll remember the portal page from the old Simple Machines forum software. Stories that appear on the Portal page will be pulled directly from the forum and moved to the "Promoted News" forum. TVNT staff may also add news directly as they see fit. You can preview the portal here.

And introducing TVNewsTalk.net Plus. An exclusive area for broadcasting professionals. TVNewsTalk.net Plus is a private discussion area with boards tailored to professional-grade discussions, job postings, industry news, and more. Best of all, TVNT Plus is absolutely free to use. You get to see all the posts, all the time, all on our easy to use and easy to read vBulletin software. The registration process for TVNT Plus will be made available shortly.

We're also making the forum skin default the new "TVNT Pro" skin. You may revert back to TVNT Black or TVNT Blue in your User CP.

More additions are in the works and will be announced when they're finalized.
