KTLA new set?

hmm makes me wonder if KSWB will get some tweaking since all the tribunes are getting an overhaul.

Their set always look "unfinished" to me for some reason, and the background which is positioned to the control room has been distracting so far.

They need to cover that up, we don't want to see any more employees in the newsroom picking their noses.

Hey Guys, just FYI right when I was walking out the door to go to work, they were showing a little part of the new set. So these are some more crappy iphone pictures.

The last picture is the new stackstone wall for the interview part of the set.

I've also been looking at my programming guide on my tv and lately have noticed that their 10pm news has been identified as "KTLA 5 NEWS AT 10." Ohh....man this would be very very awesome. The old logo, the News At Ten, the six-note jingle (not in some crappy technopop tune either, maybe even bringing back the 1990 theme), de-emphasizing tabloid reporting and unnecessary breaking news for that good old fashioned real news, that we grew up on....KTLA is BACK, at least I hope!

That's cool. That also explains why their helicopter got the old logo painted on a couple months ago. I also like in that one pic that LA is in bold similar to their previous logo of 97-04 when la is in bold.

Micah Ohlman on his twitter page has three new photos of the set progress:

What do you people think of the progress? To me, it seems very similar to the old set but updated with more flat screens and new color scheme which I like.

Looks good, but we'll have to see the actual product once its out. I hope this also means new graphics and new music.

This is great, I love the new logo. I wonder who's fabricating their set, because it looks great.

Definitely looks like a PDG-designed, BlackWalnut built set. I'm seeing some hints of KGW and KGTV in the design, and PDG has done some sets for Tribune in the past (KWGN and WGN).

By far, its better than WPIX here in New York... It seems to me that overall, that the LA sets are far better looking than the NY news sets...

KABC > WABC

KCBS > WCBS

KTLA > WPIX

KTTV > WNYW

And so forth...

I guess since LA is more massive in size, than NY is, I guess they have more room to build larger and better studios? Who knows...
