CBS Affiliate Super Bowl Promos

Did your local affiliate do a high-profile Super Bowl promo?

WBNS 10TV in Columbus debuted a massive 60-second promo hightlighting the station's rich history and proclaiming that, in 2007, 10TV "will be the leader in HD News".

Part of the promo was shot with a band and the anchors on the roof of the television station. The promo itself was shot in HD and incorporated archive footage of old promos and news anchors along with the current anchors.

They even have a whole page dedicated to it with bloopers and the whole nine yards.

Nothing from WTKR.

Barbara and Pat will be anchoring the late news tonight, to "bring Pat and Barbara to new eyeballs on Saturday and Sunday of Super Bowl weekend, to expose them to the weekend audience" says WTKR's ND. (http://tinyurl.com/yq34fv)

"Bring Pat and Barbara to new eyeballs"...

Yeah, right.

LOL, no. WDJT did a rather low-budget but amusing PSA about ice safety (ran once), and one rather corny ad for the news with a football ref sticking his hand out over the 10 at 10 news logo (ran several times).

Nothing remotely high profile, which isn't surprising, considering their newscast is anything but high profile.

WUSA's news promo is here --

. Basically it's the newsteam putting on that black smudge eye underliner that some football players wear.

They put a lot of their ads up on YouTube (as well as take ownership of promo videos uploaded by others, but that's better than DMCA-ing it off the site like most other companies do).
