ABC-TV Is # 1 In New York In Network Dayparts.

NEW YORK, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- WABC-TV is the top-rated station in New York, delivering more Households and Adults 25-54, Monday-Sunday 6am-2am, than any other television station reported in Nielsen's November'06 New York People Meter Overnights. Channel 7's 4.3 rating/11 share in HHs, and 2.0 rating/ 9 share in A25-54, give it an advantage of 30% and 25%, respectively, over its nearest competitor. Yes CBS2 noon newscast went through the roof. NOT! This is just pathetic.

CBS2 News at 6 with Dana Tyler and Jim Rosenfield came in second for the key demo of Adults 25-54.

Reading comments from tvspy the WCBS beat out WNBC in every demo at 5, 6 and 11, the first time in 20 years.

* Outdelivers competing newscasts on WNBC, WCBS and WNYW:

* Commands a 73% HH and 115% A25-54 ratings advantage over NewsChannel 4

* Outperforms CBS2 News by 109% in HHs and 87% in A25-54 ratings

* Has more than a 5.0 rating pt. lead in HHs over FOX5 News at 6, and

over a 200% advantage in A25-54 rtgs.

The line in bold is the most suprising. I was expecting a close call with NewsChannel 4, especially now that they are in High Definition.

Where do you see that? Comparing with May '06 numbers when Mary and Roz were together, numbers for CBS2 News at Noon went down. Not considerably much, but still down, after a rise in May. It's sad. This was their only newscast that was ever number 1 over WABC when Cindy and Michael anchored it.

Except at 11pm. I guess you can say that WCBS had a mild success.

Well it looks like WCBS is achieving their goal. They are doing better than WNBC in the young people, which is obviously their targeted demographic, seeing as they just forced out a 50 year old in exchanged for two people whose ages add to hers.

I think the only reason WCBS has any viewers at 5 and 6 is that they have double the lead in from Judge Judy (3.9) vs. Ellen (2.0)

That is also true, but management dosent care they just want to increase the numbers. But the 11 newscast also increased even though they are still third.
