As far as CBS mandating O&O's to do promos like these, I'm not sure. But KCNC's been doing stuff like this for a couple years now too. Search kcnc promo in YouTube to find a bunch. Because KOVR has really innovative promos as well and they are sorta the stlye of WCCO's. I don't know if the network really has a big say, but I'm sure the affiliates share information and ideas. I am not sure if they still do this, but the CBS network used to give out awards to their affiliates for their promos.. it was called the Eye on Excellence awards. This was across the board, not just for O&Os. They would eventually feed all of the promos down on the satellite and anyone could watch them. When I saw this last - and I want to say it was '05 - those "red" and "coffee talk" promos from WCCO won awards. Another big winner at the time was WCBS' "I Made the Move to CBS 2" promos with Roz Abrams and whoever else they lured over at the time. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
