fox2 190 Posted February 22, 2012 Author Share Posted February 22, 2012 Rudd forces Ten to serve Breakfast early Jenna Clarke February 22, 2012 - 8:19PM Ten's new Breakfast show hosts Magdalena Roze, Paul Henry, Andrew Rochford and Kathryn Robinson will start work four days earlier than expected thanks to Kevin Rudd's resignation. Channel Ten have fast tracked their new breakfast program which will go to air four days ahead of schedule. The decision was made following Kevin Rudd's resignation as Foreign Minister late today. In a bid to capitalise on ratings from the political fallout, rehearsals have been cut short and new hosts Paul Henry, Andrew Rochford, Kathryn Robinson and Magdalena Roze will go up against Channel Seven's Sunrise and Today on Channel Nine tomorrow from 6am. "That's right, the wait has been cut short, we're going live on-air tomorrow! Catch Ten Breakfast from 6am!" the show's official Twitter account posted just after 6pm (AEDST). Co-host Henry confirmed the news tonight when he appeared on The Project as a guest panellist. "We are not launching Breakfast on Monday. Ten are launching Breakfast tomorrow morning from 6 o'clock," he said. Executive producer Majella Wiemers has said in recent interviews that her job "is to make a show that's different and unpredictable". "We said be prepared for a show that's cheeky and unpredictable, and today's surprise resignation by Kevin Rudd means it's time for Breakfast to launch," an official statement said. Weather presenter Roze thanked her fans for their support via Twitter. "Guess I better get to sleep... So excited to see u soon! x," she posted.
