Hm, does Argentinian Spanish use the "Castilian lisp"? I don't speak the language, but her S-sounds in words such as "más" sound almost like "th," and I thought that only happened in Iberian Spanish. Or am I just too used to hearing Mexican Spanish on television?

Anyway, moving from one part of the Americas to another, here's CFTM in Montreal (TVA, French):

It sounded that way because she was speaking slower than usual. We don't use that Castilian lisp here.

Rede Globo (channel 5 in São Paulo) starting its broadcast day on Thursday, October 24, 1991.

It includes a color test pattern, that day's schedule and a public information ad.

The songs that appear at the beginning are great!

Canada is having a nationwide test of its emergency alert system (AlertReady) this week. The test was performed today (May 7) for Ontario and Quebec residents. The rest of the country will have their tests done on May 9. Mandatory mobile alerts were also rolled out to LTE-connected mobile devices this month, hence the reason for this week's tests.

This video shows the test activation seen in Montreal (CFCF) and Toronto (CFTO/CITY/CIII).

Now why don't we have our presenters or anchors in the US approach the same way the Argentinian counterparts do in presentation as the intro + headlines showcased. Make a world of difference. More personable than 'We are like a family' trite.

After almost 20 years away from the TV screens, Telefe's funny balls (which, in some way, help shaped this channel as family-oriented) have returned!

It's been a great idea to bring these cute balls back!
