Oh yeah' date=' no question about it. That's the WLS bug (with an ABC 11 logo). Looks beautiful though.[/quote']

WTVD's set also looks like a version of the WLS set.. A BDI set too, I'm guessing. I'm noticing they're also using alot of the exact same camera angles as WLS too.

WTVD's new graphics (especially the logo graphic used on the screen directly behind the anchor desk) actually look more like some of the original concepts originally drawn up for WLS before they were changed to what WLS actually uses.

VARTV tidbit...

I'd put my money on WDBJ.

Yup, it's WDBJ. Launched HD news at 5pm today.

A second TV station in the Roanoke market started doing its newscasts in HD (behind WSLS/10). Schurz Communications' WDBJ (7CBS) flipped on the HD switch for its 5 p.m. newscast... For those of you keeping score, Richmond - 0 and Hampton Roads - 0 for stations doing HD news... (4/22/2008)

Beginning this week, WHDH is draping a green screen behind their anchor desk which will show an image of their newsplex. This is being done to hide the construction they are doing in preparation for the switch to HD. They are taking out all of their old monitors and replacing them with a large screen. They are also taking out the "7 News" balcony surround. Music and graphics will also be refreshed for the HD relaunch.

EDIT: To get a look at what they are actually replacing, look to the right of this picture. The woman on the left is disgraced WHDH GM Randi Goldklank.

Belo's KVUE (ABC/Austin) is going HD next month according to these two articles. No specific launch day in these articles, and I haven't seen anything on air to indicate it's coming.
