tyrannical bastard 3443
https://tvnewscheck.com/business/article/tvnewscheck-presses-pause/ Here's hoping this is a temporary thing. The industry is such a mess, that even this stalwart is feeling the pain. Now that i'm "retired" from TV, I still read their updates twice daily, along with FTVLive, and any other update from this site. Even TVSpy and their related operations are largely paywalled, so the news about TV is going to be harder to find now. 4 1
Megatron81 179
I liked TVNewscheck I checked it every day for the news or just skim the headlines from around the web.
nycnewsjunkie 1395
I didn’t always agree with some of their editorials, but there aren’t many accessible and professional insider publications that I’m aware of. Hopefully they’ll be back sooner than later.
HSV cheesehead 88
So does this mean that they are effectively 'shutting down' indefinitely?
tyrannical bastard 3443
TVNewsCheck was nice to have because it kept an eye on station groups and some of their unchecked means of consolidating in local markets. The story continues in their (hopefully temporary) absence, as there a lot of questions surrounding the future of Sinclair, Nexstar, Gray, and even the other groups like Tegna, Cox and Hearst. And given its a touchy election year in which much is at stake, our media, and even our democracy as we know it are of primary concern. With the rapid consolidation and elimination of voices, this is very concerning. Edited February 12 by tyrannical bastard

T.L. Hughes 746
So, it looks like TVNC has resumed publishing on their website in a reduced capacity, though some original content (like certain MarketShare articles) are now paywalled to subscribers of their $199/year TVN Plus tier. Since Valentine's Day, TVNewsCheck announced a drive seeking a subscriber goal of 1,500 broadcasters to help cover operating costs, with the hope of reintroducing "expanded, behind-the-scenes coverage" exclusive to TVN Plus subscribers as soon as the next two months. Howard Beale 13
TVNewsCheck is officially back as of today. According to a statement posted on its website, TVNewsCheck had a "promising response" to its plea for subscribers. https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/tvnewscheck-returns/
T.L. Hughes 746
It looks like the TVN+ subscription drive helped, as starting today (Monday, March 4), TVNewsCheck has resumed regular updates to its website, distribution of its daily morning and afternoon, and "Tech Thursday" newsletters. Megatron81 179
Glad it came back I didn't pay to be a +member since I don't really need that extra stuff that I could find on some other website for free.
