2023 NFL Season

I wouldn't dwell TOO much on the flat look to the updated shield, as the other recent logos have had a flat/print version, as well. Still, though, can't rule anything out.

What's most important/notable is that the 2023 model differs from last year's...

First tease for CBS's upcoming broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII seen in the NFL Copyright id before the start of every game this past Sunday. Not sure why it took me so long to notice this, but this is the first Super Bowl network logo to have CBS Sports in it. Not just the original CBS logo. Probably to imply their game will have two feeds with Nickelodeon doing a separate broadcast.

Obviously no hints they will debut a new graphics package yet since this graphic is the same exact template they used for Super Bowl LV. I would think they will rebrand since their scorebug is aged out the most compared to all the other NFL broadcasters.

ESPN has debuted new MNF graphics tonight. Looks sharp, clean and crisp.

Loads of rave reviews tonight regarding this over on X/Twitter.

Really liking the new graphics and scorebug for Monday Night Football on ESPN. Not only did they go back to the neon feel, but it's much more improved and cleaned up. And on top of that, they removed the yellow venom which is a step up. Not surprised tho that they kept the same bottom bar layout taking up the whole screen. Given that they will broadcast Super Bowl LXI in 2027 and since they have a common pattern of changing up their look every 4 years, it wouldn't surprise me if they wait until that Super Bowl to make any dramatic changes to the scorebug as well as their entire graphics look.

I like the overall motif, but the wideness of all of the fonts makes me feel like I'm looking at a 4:3-designed graphic stretched to 16:9.

My one gripe is that they're using 2 different extended fonts on the scorebar. The scores use a more traditional, Helvetica-ish font, while the down indicator pulls from the MNF word mark font set. I do wish the game clock was a more standard width option, or if they eliminated the line between the game and play clocks. It all just feels a bit crowded.

Odd that a new "musical anthem"  for MNF is starting in Week 2, but there was a nugget of info confirming the refreshed MNF look is just for Monday Night, since the other NFL shows have kept the neon green accents.

New Logo, Graphics Join Music in New Look in 2023 Season
ESPN Creative Studio developed a brand enhancement across the main telecast, Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli, and Monday Night Countdown. The brand includes a new logo identity, music theme, score bug, informational system, augmented reality virtual execution, and animation look driven by light activations.

Due to a very heavy and fierce storm, the Steelers-Bills game will not be played today, but instead will be played tomorrow (January 15th) at 4:30 ET on CBS. CBS will instead air a re-showing of last season’s AFC Championship game, which the Kansas City Chiefs won.

I don't expect any major changes in graphics for the Super Bowl since they are so intertwined with the CBS corporate brand now, but refreshed elements are definitely not out of the question.

This feels like a mock due to the account having posted it out of nowhere after inactivity. But at the same time, CBS has played follow the leader with NBC before (the current scoreboard has been a clone of NBC's 2015 one since 2016), and a circular hub could definitely match up with the eyemark animation element.

Univision seems to be taking an international NFL Network feed for video and providing Spanish-language play-by-play. Unfortunate that the graphics are in English.

Here's Nickelodeon:

I've seen NFL Network provide radio audio with graphics for past Super Bowls but this is the first time I've seen live mapping of the players on the field:Screenshot(66356).thumb.png.bd5faa6c5d75927aa10785761c8633a7.pngScreenshot(66338).thumb.png.f8712fb9d81c2c4834d1fd626ff4f11c.png

Did they forget to load TT Norms in? That looks horrible.

I wouldn't be surprised if, given the social media reaction to that font, they make some adjustments to the scorebug before the 2024 season starts. FWIW, I feel like the whole thing would be fixable if they just used TT Norms as the font.

On the plus side, I think the game clock is a definite improvement.
