kfc513 217
What will WFMZ do without WLEX to piggyback off of? Linear Drift posted the answer (though WFMZ isn't using these yet)... https://vimeo.com/789817430
Weeters 1597
Are we sure this isn't a rejected proposal from 2012? These look so incredibly dated it's not even funny.

Although they aren’t using them for news (at least not yet), they are using the show promo and ID seen in the demo video.
noggi 480
I mean their work has been straight out of the late 2000’s / early 2010’s and has never evolved, so…
WRNK 31
I like it. Not everything has to be flat.
LexTVandRadio 408
I like it! They seemed to follow whatever WLEX came up with but no longer the case since WLEX was scrippified. But not a fan of Eric Gordon V/O.

I agree that not *everything* has to be flat, but IMHO design shouldn’t just stay stagnant in the early 2010s. You could’ve told me this stuff was from ten years ago and I would’ve believed you. I guess it’s not terrible; we’ve seen worse on some Nexstar and Gray stations, and we’re talking about a small station in Pennsylvania. Still, I would’ve gone for something more up to date.
kfc513 217
I'm not exactly sure when (this week?), but it looks like the new graphics are now live on WFMZ (and the GFX montage was restored on Linear Drift's website). A couple videos of the graphics in action... https://www.wfmz.com/news/area/berks/man-convicted-of-reading-homicide/article_b5de8744-ebf1-11ed-842b-6fb6317e0bc0.html#tncms-source=Homepage-Top-Stories https://www.wfmz.com/news/area/lehighvalley/40th-annual-historic-easton-house-tour/article_3672b62a-ebff-11ed-a859-b7721f5b503e.html

They teased it all week. They look great! The WLEX look was getting dated. These add a nice pop of color and everything animates - they look good and fun to watch. They really bring it up to date. WFMZ is an interesting market in the Lehigh Valley. We're mostly ingored by Philly and Scranton stations. It's extremely well watched simply because there is nothing else. Over the last 5+ years, they've really upped their game and I think it looks better than some stations in larger markets of their own (since we're not really our own market here in the Lehigh Valley).
