Small ATL update:

1) WAGA is now the broadcast partner of the Georgia Bulldogs, replacing WSB (Nothing came of them being on their secondary set, back on the normal set as normal)

2) Just seen at 6:00pm Atlanta News First's shot that appears in the intro has changed, not sure if it's like this for every open, adjusting for the time of day.

Interesting move. Wouldn't that be viewed as a demotion for Rick or does WANF value mornings more than evenings?

It could have been his choice to move to mornings, we don’t know for sure this was a management move.

That's a big deal for WANF, especially since Blair already has a sense of familiarity with Atlanta viewers. It seems that is WANF's strategy (even as CBS46), get big names from other markets instead of promoting their own to the anchor chair permanently (most recent example Rick and Shon, I know Rick was from CNN, what about Shon?)

Rick was from Fox News Channel. Shon was at WCBS, among others.

The Atlanta stations have scooped up plenty of former CNNers and Weather Channel meteorologists through the years. Linda Stouffer and Sophia Choi both anchored at the former CNN Headline News before going to WSB, Eboni Deon is a former Weather Channel met who’s also now at WSB, and Vinnie Politan once helmed WXIA’s morning show.

Thought that was Blair Miller, who we established would be joining the station soon. Little weird though that Buck Lanford would join in on the confusion.

Didn't see the news about Blair. Definately looks like him, and I can also see why the person in the comments thought it was Buck.

Being that it is established that Blair is coming to 46 I wonder why Gables didn't just outright say it. Probably just to make the post more interesting.

Just checked his Facebook and a video from this photoshoot (without the darkened faces) and others pictures of Blair on the set and newsroom are on there, his cover picture is actually of ANF's logo.

Atlanta News First reporter Asia Wilson and photojournalist Lauren Swaim were preparing to give a live report from the parking lot of the Clayton County Sheriff’s office just before 11 p.m. Monday. That’s when the crew said a man approached them, indicated he had a gun, and threatened to shoot them if they called for help.

Either that’s an incredibly poorly written story or there’s an even bigger story to be done about Clayton County SO.

Yes, that story could definitely have been written better. There has been a lot of criticism of the Clayton County Sheriffs office recently, its hard to explain the situation, so I left a few links below if anyone is interested.

FTVLive reports depositions are underway in the discrimination lawsuit filed by former WGCL news anchor Mike Dunston.

This lawsuit is from when WANF was Meredith-owned WGCL.  The depositions, should they become public, may be an interesting read.  WGCL was a hot mess under Meredith's ownership.

Don't forget the late Don Farmer and Chris Curle from back in the day who both came from CNN in the 80's.

Speaking of CNN, anyone surprised no one in ATL has tried, at this time, to get Robbin Meade?

Atlanta News First or Atlanta News FIRST, that is the question

Don't know where else to post this, but WAGA like many O&O's calls their 11 PM newscast Fox News Edge. Exactly what does that branding mean. News Edge is also apparently it's also an information service from the Fox News Channel.
