Wonder if KTRK will pick up Wheel.

The ABC deal was what they needed to go down the line with the rest of their stations to know it's going on; depends on if Stegna General negotiates for KHOU, or if it's Coxpollo that'll have to do it and if they don't bite, there's still the possibility of Fox and Graham trying to make a better deal for their stations before ABC can try there.

Now that we know things are a go in the biggest markets, it'll be interesting to see if some of the carriage aberrations like WSYT do have a renewal shot or if Imagicomm doesn't bother and shoves it off to Sinclair or Nexstar to replace it with The Bible Game or something. And if this new deal includes a much more streaming-friendly window for same-week or same-month replays while respecting existing station rights.

local stations stopped being daring and creative once quirky local individuals sold their stations to hedge funds.

That really is one of the keys to the death of local media. There are also business Dynamics such as the death of local business and more efficient forms of advertising through the internet, but the type of person running these stations is definitely one of the factors. Non creative people running a creative business.

There is discussion over moving production of The Kelly Clarkson Show to the NYC area:

Can't help but think that NBCU's Connecticut facility is an option.

With all the talk about NBC's late night future and Seth Meyers becoming Lorne's heir apparent at SNL, Studio 8G could open up, or they could redo 6A and eradicate the last traces of Megyn Kelly. New York would happily offer tax subsidies to support Kelly because there's no way she tapes at Stamford without making her and any guests extraordinary offers to deal with the drive up I-95 in a way Steve Wikos guests tolerate.

I'm surprised it was Kelly who was open to it, though, probably because California's COL situation is overall painful, which is why she's in Montana when she can be.

6A would be the best bet.  Lease out 8G to another production when Seth is wrapped.  Clark's show really doesn't need the excess square footage that it's taking up at Universal right now.  The plan to move the show to New York sounds like an economic plan to free up some soundstage space at Universal for movie/tv productions that are willing to pay more $$$ to use it.  Also keep in mind that the summer Olympics will be held in Los Angeles in 2028... that Universal space will be needed badly.  If NBC doesn't use it in 2028, they'll gladly charge a pretty penny if a foreign broadcaster needs the space.

So back in the summer The Charlotte Observer mentioned that “Your Day With Anna Kooiman” was going to premiere January 9 on WCCB from 8-9am. That didn’t happen. Instead it is only going to be on YouTube on Bahakel Entertainment and it’s supposed to premiere today.

Sounds like a reheated version of The Soup, which was one of my favorite shows so it sounds interesting

Yeah, does sound like The Soup and also the short TV show in Syndication in 2015-16 season Crazy Talk with Ben Aaron Ginger Zee's husband. I wonder if Fox17 will sign on for Channel Surf for late night or go on CW7 or WXSP the only TV stations I think would take it.

Looks like WPXI reshuffled things around with jeopardy second run at 1 instead of 3:30 then dish nation instead of 3pm.  NBC News Daily now airs at 3 instead of 1  (where they aired days for many years) leading into the news at 4.

Looks like 5th hour of Today isn’t pulling the numbers Days did.

Its not, but I think this is more of a slam on RingTv leading off an hour against kelly clarkson and dr phil.  Hence Jeopardy Secondary is now leading into RingTv.  Prob fogure 5th hour of today would do less harm as a lead-in than an hour led by a half-hour Amazon commercial.

Not unless Wheel's prime access hour mandate is lifted, which I doubt will ever happen given that the only reason it exists was to avoid being slotted too close to the former NBC/CBS daytime version, which has been gone for over 30 years. Way back when, WPTZ was interested in picking up Wheel but they could only fit it at 5:00 PM. KingWorld said no deal and it went to a competitor (they do carry it today at 7:30).

KTRK would have to truncate the 6:00 newscast which they never like to do. Any time the ABC O&O's put out a special that pre-empts Wheel on the other O&O's, KTRK airs it 3:30 to pre-empt Inside Edition before all the news. They also do not carry the CMA Red Carpet special that ABC feeds to the O&O's just before the ceremony (similar to how the NBC O&O's start Rockefeller Center Christmas Celebration at 7 instead of 8).
