If I were the social media specialist, I wouldn't do that. Just re-tweet your own story with a reminder that you covered it on (x) date.

 

I'm sure PXI can dig up several stories WTAE covered a few days late too.

Especially since the quoted tweet doesn't mention that it's breaking news. WPXI might have called it breaking news on air,  but if the tweet you're quoting doesn't say it,  it makes WTAE look bad in my opinion.

If KDKA was smart, they would make a promo with something along the lines of ... "While the children bicker, we remembered and celebrated the storied career of Stacy Smith.  KDKA TV News ... Your Hometown Advantage ... Then, Now and Always"

It's petty is what it is. Someone at WTAE probably thinking they were being clever. Digital director, ND, or GM should have seen that and had it taken down immediately, not let it sit up for 24+ hours or however long it was.
