lazynetjunkie 34 Posted August 12, 2007 Share Posted August 12, 2007 Surprisingly, when FOX Chicago decided to dump the time/temp bug on their 9PM newscast almost a couple years back, they actually got e-mails from viewers wanting the time/temp back on the screen. Believe it or not, alot of people now actually consider the time on the screen during a newcast as one of their actual clocks at home. I find the time bug on a newscast more reliable/accurate than some of my own clocks here at home. After a power outage, I take a look at the time on the screen of a newscast to reset my clocks around the house. Having the time/temp bug in newscasts nowadays is important. KMOV and KSDK run them only in the morning, and KPLR (and formerly KDNL) never do. Personally, I think that time & temp is handy to have on the screen.
