Seems to be a trend going on with MLS teams selling their rights to broadcast stations and moving away from RSNs. Here in Philly the Union moved from NBC Sports Philadelphia to WPHL a couple years ago and it was mentioned in another thread the NE Revolution leaving NBC Sports New England to WBZ this year. I wonder if MLS teams are trying to tap fans who are cable cutters who wouldn't be able to follow their team on TV otherwise if it was on an RSN.

I think what's not helping is that the RSNs are also being dropped by providers (most notably the streaming services). So it makes logical sense for this arrangement to take place.

Where are the soccer demos?

They're cord cutters or they have vMVPDs where RSNs have disappeared lately. They're younger. They can't be compared to NHL, MLB or NBA demos at all.

OTA TV is the best way to reach them, by far, and it also enhances the station profile a good bit. The downside is needing multiple carriers to cover some team TV territories, but that's why you have robust streaming built into all of this.

Very nice. Hopefully, they'll sort out a streaming solution for those who can't get these channels but are in-market

And one of the main appeals is that these days...you can throw MyNet programming at 3am on a Friday and nobody will care. It's good summer programming to fill a timeslot, and even better if you're an indie like WAXN/WGN that has no basic schedule to hew to, while WSOC is happy to plug a Saturday afternoon slot that would otherwise be full of infomercials/"World of X Games". Sadly, it rules CW affiliates out because of their restrictions, but it's better than being stuck on Bally Sports South +++ behind a Hornets and Braves game.

The good thing also is you're getting national exposure out of market via ESPN+, so nothing but good publicity there.

Buffed the list and also added the Spanish partners. Didn't expect two TeleXitos subchannels to figure in. There's also one UniMás local station (WAMI) and two Estrella Media outlets (KMPX and KRCA). Not sure what NYRB is up to...I suspect that MSG is having trouble because of the later-than-normal ends to the basketball and hockey seasons, and that's delaying any confirmation of their local rights partner.

Note that LAFC in English is streaming only with YouTube TV which until this season was also their shirt sponsor.

Update: Apparently, LAFC has allowed their deal with YouTube TV to expire and will move their locally televised English matches to linear TV with new partners KCOP & Bally Sports SoCal. The KCOP matches will continue to be on YTTV for Los Angeles customers. The first KCOP match is May 21 versus Colorado, while the first BSSC match will be June 23 versus Dallas.

I have since added a screenshot showing the Station ID and the score bug.

Even down here in the USL Championship (men's 2nd tier league), SD Loyal has been on KSWB (Cable 5, PSIP 69). Pretty neat to see. Another local (Spanish language) station has aired matches of Xolas, the Liga MX Feminil team from Tijuana.
