From the Washington Post:

“Cumulus Media, which employs some of the most popular right-leaning talk-radio hosts in the United States, has told its on-air personalities to stop suggesting that the election was stolen from President Trump — or else face termination.”

I'm curious to see what the arrangement is between the "fringe" networks like OAN and NewsMax, and their service providers.  I"m sure they're having to pay up to the providers for the privilege , as opposed to the standard retransmission consent where the cable company has to cough up the cost and pass it along to the consumer.

If this is the case and one of these networks goes over the line, the provider can send them packing without cause?

As for radio, this could be a do or die move IF these personalities have crossed the line.  It's been the lifeblood of talk radio since the 90s ever since Rush Limbaugh bulldozed anything left of the fairness doctrine.

If they really mean it, good for them, even if it basically means signing their own death warrant....

The question is, will other radio groups that carry Cumulus content agree? The Premiere standard lineup has many of the same issues, along with regional monopolies like Midwest Communications that use these shows to fill most of their schedule and have the same deniers in their psudo-'local' lineups. You'd think this would have an effect down the line with other groups...or it could backfire. And there are always lower-tier bottom-feeder stations only happy to take on these shows.
