This is the list of the best TV station news department to work for in each state across the United States.

The best station in the state is not always in the biggest market and it is not always the top-rated station. But, you break down each station by a number of factors to come up with which is the best station in the state to work at.

No station is perfect and none of the stations that are named the best in the state are perfect either. But, if you are looking to make a move to a certain state and you want a good place to work, this list should help you.

Sadly, there were a few states where we could not name the best station.

So, let's take a list of those stations that did top the list.

I guess I have to be that guy and complain about KMBC being listed for Kansas, when it is licensed and physically located in Missouri.

And WSOC isn't in South Carolina.  I mean, the market has 4 SC counties, but still, the vast majority is in NC.

That's really more of an indictment on the stations in Topeka and Wichita if anything.
