Adair nearly made the jump to market #3 in 1967. Management at Chicago's WBKB (a year away from becoming WLS) attempted to lure the pair of Doug Adair and Joel Daly. Daly took the bait, developing a 50-year bond with ABC, while Adair stayed put, and became a legend in Ohio.

He was at the helm of the team at WCMH when for pretty much the only time ever they were the clear #1 station.

I did not know he had Alzheimer's later in life. That is tough, but at least he is no longer suffering.

Fred was the longtime host of The Morning Exchange, which ABC used their format to launch Good Morning America.

After the show was downsized to an hour and cancelled outright in 1999, Fred spent another 12 years at WKYC, having a 15 minute show during the noon hour, and later his own show, eventually becoming a part of their pay-for-play show Good Company until retiring in 2012.

In recent years, Fred has fallen on hard times after some health issues, even necessitating a GoFundMe effort to pay for nursing home care, after the government denied benefits he should have received from a stint he served in the military before going into TV.

FTVLive is saying that a news anchor was killed in a plane crash near New Orleans Lakefront airport. Scott is doing the responsible thing and not reporting the name until the official word is released.

Here's the story:

(via NOLA.com) https://www.nola.com/news/crime_police/article_681fe7da-c069-11e9-b21e-0bf250e57d83.html

(via WDSU) https://www.wdsu.com/article/2-dead-after-plane-crashes-in-new-orleans-east-near-lakefront-airport/28723557

Again, it doesn't mention whose the news anchor that was killed, more likely until authorities name the victims. However, it does speculate who's the anchor that was killed, specifically if it came from New Orleans.

OMG. It was Nancy Parker! I can't believe this. The beloved NOLA anchor, mostly working with John Snell at WVUE, has passed away while working on a story and killed on that plane crash alongside the pilot.
