Welcome to the DFW and Houston market, Weigel Broadcasting.

Took Weigel only about 40 years from their first attempt... (They competed for channel 45 for years before it was awarded to Pueblo, which started KXLN)

And here's it is. The FCC just greenlighted the Univision transaction.

Re: WLII... if you believe this, (only source so far reporting it by this note) TVBoricuaUSA is reporting a familiar branding may return to old ch. 11.

https://www.tvboricuausa.com/2020/12/regresa-teleonce-puerto-rico-univision-2021.html

Translated:

Following the approval of the sale of Univision by the FCC , channel 11 and its repeater stations in Puerto Rico will have a new identity.

TVboricuaUSA sources assured that the channel will stop being called Univision and will become known as TeleOnce.

The announcement, to be made shortly by Liberman Media Group, would mark TeleOnce's return to channels WLII-TV (channel 11) and its repeater stations WSUR-TV (channel 9) and WOLE-TV (channel 12), which since 2002 they became part of Univision.

It should be noted that WSTE-DT (channel 7) and the Univision Radio stations will continue to be in the hands of Univision.

So 'Univision Puerto Rico' branding to WSTE, perhaps?

WWCP in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, is being transferred closer into Sinclair's orbit.

Peak Media is selling the station to Johnstown (WWCP-TV) Licensee, which will be a Cunningham subsidiary. Peak already had brokered the station's time to Cunningham. Cunningham will acquire WWCP-TV's antenna, its Fox affiliation agreement, and its 1996 Interim Operating Agreement to operate WATM-TV for $2.85 million.

This marks the exit from television for Peak's owners, Elliot Evers, Gregory Widroe and Brian Pryor. Evers and Widroe hold minority stakes in five Chico market radio stations in the Deer Creek cluster, and Evers is trustee for three divestiture trusts of radio stations run by Cumulus and Cox.

KBCB Bellingham, WA, is being sold to Radiant Life Ministries for $7.74 million. It had been owned by Venture Technologies.

That valuation definitely reflects the fact that Vancouver and Victoria are in the signal contour...

Not much of a loss from the $10 million Fox was going to buy it for in 2014 when they needed a backstop just in case they couldn't get the terms they wanted from Tribune for KCPQ pre-Nexstar purchase.

Fox of course is pretty happy now with not having to run "Fox 24 Seattle" and a WBTS-esque mess of a translator network with a main tower 80 miles from downtown.

Would it be easier for Gray to move the KCBD NBC feed to the KLCW spectrum they just acquired?

I don't think that's their plan. Why would you want to move to KLCW spectrum when they can be on its own UHF frequency?

Along with moving UHF is to move from its current site to KJTV/KLCW's tower.

Short answer on both is yes.

With the loophole, UHF signals counts at 50% of the households (in contrast to 100% of HH for VHF). So that certainly help the owner's cap space.

Not sure if this new Democratic-run FCC is going to attempt to get rid of it again. Wheeler got rid of it. And then Pai brought it back.

There's an amendment in one of the Sinclair channel change PRMs.

WCYB wanted to move from VHF-low 5 to UHF 30. They now proposed to move to RF 35 instead.

I've always heard low VHF band signal is supposed to "bend" over these mountains? Figured that is why they stayed on channel 5 all these years.

Going from a 90 mile contour 78.9 mile contour.

With a lot of the Gray stations moving to from VHF to UHF like listed above, waiting on WYMT to get off channel 12, but at least it's not low VHF.

Filed on New Year's Eve (12/31/20) is a Transfer of Control application of Standard Media from McDermott Communications to Community News Media, LLC (through a subsidiary Paducah Television Operations).

Community News Media is the same firm that's filing to acquire the two Sinclair stations in Paducah, KY (KBSI/WDKA).

Here's the organizational chart of the proposed change of guard of Standard Media.

Follow-up. The transfer was consummated yesterday (2/22).

We have a Report & Order (R&O).

The FCC has greenlighted KOMU's channel change from VHF 8 to UHF 27.

They'll have one month to file a minor change application for a construction permit on their new allotment.

Tegna's KARE (31) & KPNX (18) just recently gotten permits for their UHF allotments last week.

And lastly, four PRMs have advanced into NPRMs yesterday (3/4).

Unrelated to channel changes, The FCC has greenlighted the WWCP transaction to Cunningham Broadcasting yesterday (3/4).
