this guy has been lasting less than a year in all his roles at CBS... he was named KDKA GM almost a year ago... lasted less than a year in sacramento... now they're moving him back to the west coast...

not long enough to settle in... just long enough to fire people CBS wants gone...

be prepared for some staffing shake ups at KCBS/KCAL...

Hard to do that when just about everybody of importance is already gone, unless he wants the notoriety of canning Pat Harvey and Jim Hill.

Hopefully he can pull there ratings out the basement

i doubt the ratings are THAT bad unless KTTV is somehow beating KCBS/KCAL in timeslots outside of mornings.

i would not put it past him....

sam shane was popular in sacramento... gone...

marty griffin in pittsburgh... not an anchor... but still popular... gone...

plenty of other departures of popular, well-paid talent who were shown the door at those two stations...

even more people behind the scenes... news directors... managing editors... executive producers...

cutting the fat off the payroll....

Well, if Howell fires Tara Finestone, that would be a step in the right direction. Steve Mauldin allowed Finestone to gut the News Department and hasn't hired new personnel. I can't believe I'm saying this, but that shit didn't happen when Nancy Bauer Gonzales was the cray cray head honcho at CBS2/KCAL... Pat Harvey and Jim Hill are literally the only people keeping KCBS in life support, so it would be extremely stupid if Howell gets rid of them. BUT, if KCBS is going to be managed like JetBlue is being managed right now, then it will be painful down the road.
