2019 Regional Emmys Thread

This is the time of year when stations and other outlets all from over the country get rewarded with Emmys, and I felt that it's best we should devote a single thread to them.

Here are the winners from last night's (6/15) Southeast Emmys; WXIA as usual took the most haul with 36 including News Excellence and Overall Excellence, but lost Daily Newscast to WSB. WGCL also won big. The New England Emmys were also last night; World News Tonight anchor David Muir was presented with the Governors' Award while WCVB took home nine awards followed by WFXT with eight.

Last weekend, the Northwest Emmys were held; in a surprise, Overall Excellence went to KTUU.

And this past week, nominations were announced for the Los Angeles Emmys on July 27 (which are considered to be the flagship of all regional Emmy awards); KMEX leads the way with 22 nods followed by KCET (19). Among the more traditional outlets, KNBC has nine.

By the way...unlike all others, the Southeast Emmys weren't livestreamed anywhere, which is a shame. But I know there were already or are others like these to come.

The 71st Los Angeles Emmys (aka the flagship regional Emmys, since the Television Academy is headquartered in L.A.) were held Saturday night (7/27); KCET was the big winner with six followed by KMEX, KTLA, and KVEA with five apiece.

The Big Four affiliates saw KNBC and KTTV picking up two Emmys each; KABC and KCBS, both with one.

But if there were News or Overall Excellence honors, KMEX and KCET would've easily won those respectively.

The Golden Anniversary ceremony for the Lower Great Lakes chapter took place in Cleveland and was offered for remote viewing via livestream. Scripps' WEWS (NewsChannel 5/Cleveland) took home the most hardware, including the award for News Excellence. Quincy Media's WPTA (Fort Wayne's NBC) pulled the upset and received the honor for Overall Excellence. WFYI (PBS/Indianapolis) collected 7 awards for work related to its documentary, "Eva-7063"). The Holocaust survivor at the center of that project, unfortunately, died just a couple of weeks after the gala.

And back to the L.A. Emmys: There are also no individual honors; Investigative Reporter, for example, would've went to David Goldstein (KCBS).

And here's who's up for the News and Documentary Emmys on September 24 (yes, 48 hours after the Primetime Emmys!); PBS as usual leads with 47 nominations followed by CBS (33) and HBO (32). For the two regional categories, Tegna has four nods (WXIA, KING, WTSP, KPNX) while WNBC, KXAS, and KNTV have one apiece for the NBC O&Os.

Bumping this because the Lonestar Emmys (which cover the whole state of Texas, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio; Tegna of course has a station in every one of those markets) were this past weekend:
