2019-20 Syndication News

Here In Richmond: (source: TitanTV, Zap2It)

WTVR (CBS): On September 9th, Steve will be replaced by the new CBS 6 News at 4pm. I saw a couple of promos for the new newscast (on TV) featuring 5pm anchors Rob Desir and Julie Bragg. I also saw a promo (on Facebook) for the new 4pm newscast featuring noon anchor Cheryl Miller and meteorologist Tom Patton. Maybe the newscast features all four. (UPDATE: The four - including new reporter Bree Sison - are in the new newscast.)

WRIC (ABC): The Dr. Oz Show leaves the station tomorrow (8/30). Rachael Ray will air at 3pm (Oz's soon-to-be old slot) starting Monday (9/2). But it will be temporary until The Mel Robbins Show takes the slot on September 16th. Meanwhile, Rachael Ray will continue to air at 1:05am after ABC's Nightline.

WWBT (NBC): On September 9th, The Kelly Clarkson Show will air at 2pm replacing both Daily Blast Live and Right This Minute. The two replaced the short-lived Me Time with Frangela not too long ago. Right This Minute continues to air at 8 & 8:30am on sister station WUPV. Meanwhile, The Tamron Hall Show will air at 3pm replacing The Wendy Williams Show. Wendy continues to air at 10am live on WUPV (the show has been airing on that station since the beginning).

WRLH (FOX): On September 9th, infomercials will replace the now-canceled Who Wants to Be A Millionaire (1pm). Judge Judy will replace Face The Truth at 3 & 3:30pm (maybe it's temporary). The show continues to air at 5 & 5:30pm. I saw a promo for America Says on WRLH, but I'm guessing it will be at 1pm. WRLH is also getting the new game show 25 Words or Less.

WUPV (CW): On September 2nd, The Dr. Oz Show moves from WRIC to WUPV. It will be the THIRD station in Richmond that will air his show. Dr. Oz began on WTVR in 2009 (at 4pm) and then moved to WRIC in 2014 (at 3pm to replace Steve Harvey - back when his show was in Chicago - after its first two seasons on the station). Steve Harvey moved from WRIC to WTVR the same year and WTVR also aired its successor, Steve, from 2017 until the end of its run. Dr. Oz will take The Real's timeslot. What will happen to The Real? It will still air on WUPV but it will move to... wait for it... to 6am. Yes, 6:00AM. Yeah, set your alarms, Richmond. Meanwhile, Judge Jerry will air at Noon and 12:30 on September 9th replacing Dateline. Dateline will move to 1am. It will replace Chicago P.D., which will move to 7:00am (not kidding). Mike & Molly moved to WUPV from WRLH a couple months ago. It airs at 10pm, moving The Goldbergs to 11pm.

I'll update the post for changes.

From Gotham City incoming 9/9. Source: Zap2it

WCBS: No changes anywhere.

WNBC: Access Daily (formerly Access LIVE) at 1p, Kelly Clarkson at 2p, Newly minted Access Hollywood at 7p, All Access at 7:30p

WNYW: The Noon at 12p (no word what that show entails), TMZ RR at 2p (replacing DISH nation RR), ExtraExtra RR at 2:30p (replacing caught in providence RR) (actually 9/10 as FOX Fall preview will air its place one time) along with its 1st run at 7p (replacing Pagesixtv)

I still don't get why FOX o&os didn't pick up Steve Harvey talk show, but i'll digress. Man has a lot on the plate to deal, including expanding Family Feud to Africa, which he'll be host there. https://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/fremantle-steve-harvey-to-bring-family-feud-to-africa

Big Bang Theory moves its 7:30p airing from WWOR to WNYW, bumping 1 run off Modern Family, which will unify with its 12a run for 1hr.

WABC: Tamron Hall at 10a bumps off Rachel Ray to 2p replacing Millionaire + 1st run RTM. Assuming Right This Minute airs for 1 hr at 1:35a after EWN 11p encore.

WWOR: Speaking of PageSix, Its last lap appears to be that week. It'll air at 6:30p for 1 wk holding over for 25 words or less, which debuts 9/16. Family Feud bumps off for 1/2 hr + airs from 7-8p, directly competing against J! + Wheel on WABC. THAT. WILL. BE. FUN! The simpsons at 11:30p for 1 wk before ExtraExtra RR. Live PD police patrol replaces Dr. OZ RR at 1a.

WPIX: Judge Jerry at 12p, which bumps off Couples Court to 11a replacing Springer. According zap2it, not only True Crimes Files remains at 1p but also NEW, so it appears to return for this fall. Comedy remains status quo, except 9/2-3 Sanford + son + the jeffersons, both already in their saturday runs on PIX are holdovers 3:30-4:30a. The earlier replaces Rules of Engagement, which FINALLY leaves every bit of syndication! 9/9-10 has Sanford + son expand for 1 hr. Of course Mel Robbins debuts 9/16 at 9a, which will reduce Maury to a single airing. BTW Full Court Press with Greta Van susteren debuts 9/8 at 7a after PIX11 Uplcose with Marvin Scott.

WLNY: Bear with me for a minute. It appears both Corrupt crimes + Killer Mysteries are leaving the sked, so may I present to you its replacement to the 8a hour: The Dr. and the Diva. Had to research what that was. Here's the demo, viewer's beware:

Oh how the mighty have fallen, Dr Steve Salvatore. But Hey there Kimberly Locke, long time no see. This ain't it though. And here I was thinking they're replacing the doctors with that? Since when stage 29 got THAT cheap?

Anyway, in the mornings, Forensic Files (now 6:30a) replaces Paternity Court RR at 5a, which bumps to 6a, bumping off Supreme Justice 2nd run to 6:30a. That could be holdover because Protection Court is listed for 6:30a. Also for some reason, Jerry Springer lives on....at 9a on 'LNY. Only that station can explain why. It replaces Cheaters, whose recent host (grandson of clark gable) died of accidental overdose in February at age 30.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2019/04/18/medical-examiner-clark-gables-grandson-died-overdose/3513225002/

Last Man Standing pulls out of late night + holds over at 5p for Personal Injury Court debut on 9/16. Though it first replaces Face the truth at that time. It'll return back to late night at 1a + 4a, which that week earlier will be informercials. Family Guy goes 2x at 2a, latter replaces American Dad. Bob's burgers goes daily 2x at 3a, replacing King of the hill + The cleveland show. And that's the update thus far...Thanks for coming to my TED talk. 😉

Apparently Right This Minute appears to be unceremoniously fully dropped by ABC O&Os by 9/9. Tamron Hall will rerun on late nights in their (and cancelled millionaire RRs) time slots, according to Zap2it + Titantv. RTM's website doesn't listed ABC O&Os times either in the updated listings page, which I first found out + triggered as warning such. If that doesn't show ABC's confidence in Tamron, what does? That or is it more like ABC shedding lightweight? Co-exist much?

Slight update: WPIX lists Maury 3x at 9a, 10a + 3p on 9/9. The 9a of course is a holdover for Mel Robbins on 9/16, thus will reduce back to 2x. CW's airing of Springer moves to 1p from 3p. True Crime Files will be retained but will air at 3a, erasing the suggested Sanford + Son RRs.

WLS, the one O&O not airing Tamron's show, is maintaining their midnight rebroadcast of 'Windy City Live' & 1am news rebroadcast, but the first-run slate of 'Millionaire' and 'RTM' that follows is replaced with a 1:40am rebroadcast of 'Inside Edition' leading right into the network news.

This is the first time in about five years WLS is airing IE repeat after the 10pm repeat.

Although, I wished they would've went back to just airing WNN after the 10pm repeat, like they use to do.

They've been doing the hour show for a while.

WNCN's midday news has been an hour-long since starting to air TYTR at 4:00 p.m. to continue that tradition.

Harry? That wasn't even around this past TV season.

WNCN has been airing the Hour-long Noon newscast since they were an NBC affiliate did they go to an hour when they were an O&O or no?

As for the Harry show I have no idea where you got that info from but that show has been cancelled for QUITE some time now.

Changes I can see in Wilmington...

WWAY-ABC: Tamron Hall replaces Face the Truth at 3pm.

WWAY-CW: Judge Jerry is at 4pm. Bob's Burgers replaces American Dad at 6/6:30pm.

WWAY-CBS: No changes

WECT: The Kelly Clarkson Show replaces Me Time with Frangela and Daytime Jeopardy at 2pm

WSFX: Wendy Williams moves to 10am, moving Maury to 11am. This avoids conflict with the Maury rerun on WWAY-CW (that's right... two competing stations were running Maury at the same time). Two and a Half Men replaces WWTBAM at 1pm. Two hours of Judge Mathis replace Wendy and Steve Harvey at 3 & 4pm.

WILM: Must be going for an older demo... Matlock replaces Pickler & Ben at 10am and Gunsmoke replaces Pawn Stars at 1pm. Also, 2 Broke Girls replaces Access at 6:30pm.

Based on the information we have from the station, we're on KMCI from 5-6pm during the week (like you referenced) and only on KSHB on weekends. As far as we know, these are our new times. Doesn't hurt to confirm on the 9th, though, just to be sure Means something else at 2pm.

Uh, what?

Don't jump to any conclusions until the week of the 16th.

Matlock and Gunsmoke are simulcast from MeTV, placeholders. Better than plugging in infomercials!

Ah, that makes sense. WILM has MeTV on a sub.

Are there syndicated programs that start on the 16th?

Come to think of it, WILM is picking up 25 Words or Less. I've seen them run promos for it.

Wendy got her start in Columbus on WWHO — so it’s like going home. I’m surprised they haven’t let go of The People’s Court or Divorce Court yet.

I’m shocked 4 didn’t get Kelly Clarkson, seeing as it was Steve’s direct replacement.

However, Media General began to move away from NBCUniversal Television Distribution as the station’s main syndication provider... looks as if Nexstar is continuing that. Sinclair must have been willing to pay more than Nexstar for it.

Ok, CBS doesn't even distribute Tamron Hall. She comes out of Disney. Bro, where are you getting this information? Or is this just in your mind?
