For those of you in the Milwaukee viewing area, FOX 6 pulled out all the stops for WakeUp anchor Nicole Koglin, who is departing the station after 15 years, which she announced four months prior in March. Today was her last day and she'd been anchoring from home for several months, but the station put up a desk outside the studio for her to be with people one last time on-air. Anyone leaving a station is difficult to watch, but if you're a fan of hers, you can check out what they did for her on her last day today: https://www.fox6now.com/fox6-wakeup-news/saying-goodbye-to-nicole-koglin-fox6-crew-wishes-her-well

  • There's going to be a new Chief Meteorologist at the Rio Grande Valley's NBC 23 (KVEO). The RGV's NBC Station has hired WHNS (FOX 21) Meteorologist Issac Williams to be their new lead weathercaster for the Early Evening and Late newscasts. No word on what KVEO will do about Robert Bettes who is currently the stations Chief Meteorologist.
  • And Pittsburgh's CBS 2 (KDKA) is adding more news to its lineup. KDKA will add a 7:30pm half-hour newscast to its current 7pm news that will now run from 7-8pm. The station will have Megan Schiller the 7pm half-hour newscast that will replace the nationally syndicated show EXTRA with Billy Bush. KDKA's expanded news is set to launch August 17th.

Correction: CBS Evening News airs at 7pm.

That leaves Dr. Phil as the only syndicated show in KDKA’s lineup.

NBCUniversal lays off Maria Celeste Arraras (host of Telemundo's Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste and formerly of Noticiero Telemundo), Rashel Diaz (Telemundo's Un Nuevo Dia), KVEA main anchor Ana Patricia Candiani and KVEA reporter Martin Plascencia. You might remember Arraras from Univision's Primer Impacto, a news program she hosted with Myrka Dellanos until 2002.

Myrka Dellanos Loynáz, for the old school Primer Impacto fans out there! You know...the ones that couldn't change the change the channel until Walter Mercado came on and told everyone their horoscope!

Myrka has resigned in protest. Maria is lucky to have her on her side...she's truly a ride or die friend

Sad news out of Panama City, Florida, as COVID-19 has claimed the life of former WMBB General Manager, Bill Byrd.

https://www.mypanhandle.com/news/local-news/bay-county-resident-and-former-news-13-general-manager-bill-byrd-passes-away/?fbclid=IwAR2ZbL7qtwyAwTYXqdqJgaJpFg1AY2F1C3jT72xmJ9DNOYKdSFEL_vzhvdo

He was a wonderful person who meant so much to those who worked with him, especially those who were just starting in their careers.  A manager who took the time to know his employees and make sure that they were able to do their jobs without issues, as well as give them the time and resources to do what needed to be done.

What did the post say about Allison  @CLT-DCA-ORF-PTI? It’s not avail now.

A friend of Allison's said something about how Allison was pushed out, for younger talent, and how management prefers Holly Morris, and Erin (Don't know the last name), etc. It was a lot in the post. I'm sure there will be more insight on it in the coming days.

Not sure if this is the one (someone else can verify), but I found this --

Twitter 'source'/thread: https://twitter.com/lifeofjaneeee/status/1291820313366405124

Whatever the reasons were, Allison's very abrupt departure is seriously bad optics, especially given how long she had been at the station and resonated with the community.

Not that this is anything related at all, but can't forget how Fox 5 has lost other big DMV names within the last few years, like Tony Perkins and Annie Yu, and has also seen its fair share of controversies in the past.

Anyways, in the case that these accusations of her being forced out are verified as fact, then we'll see if these changes really make the difference Fox 5 wants.

This is all such a shame. I was born and raised in the DMV and waking up to her was such a joy! Fox 5 has made some really bad choices the past few years - it’s a shame to see what’s happening there. Hopefully Allison lands on her feet on tv here again in the DMV.

Maybe Allison leaving was her plan anyway, she notified management & putting Angie on mornings for the “month of April” was a test drive for Allison’s replacement
