This should probably go somewhere in the Chicago board but...

She just left WEWS and some people have said that they delivered horrible ratings under her leadership, so what makes WFLD think that she can help to improve them?

Anyone with 50 cents and a monkey could make WFLD do better than they are now. A 1.7 rating at 9pm? Certainly things were nowhere near there at WEWS. More importantly than ratings she knows Chicago having been ND at CLTV.

Good luck to her for having to compete with the 800-lb gorilla that's WGN.

According to TVSPY, Nick and Danielle Kosir are leaving KMVT and going to the East Coast. TVSpy says they're going to Charlotte. $1 bets that they are going to WJZY to be a part of the morning team.

From TVSpy:

Danielle Kosir, Nick Kosir and Andrew Reed Sign Off From KMVT

By Merrill Knox on March 28, 2014 11:16 AM

Three members of the KMVT news team are leaving the station: Danielle Kosir, Nick Kosir and Andrew Reed will all sign off today to “pursue new opportunities,” Twin Falls, Idaho station says.

Danielle Kosir is the main anchor and producer of the weekday morning and noon newscast. Her husband, Nick Kosir — better known as The Rapping Weatherman — is the meteorologist for the same newscasts. The station says the pair is heading back to the east coast (TVSpy hears they are headed to Charlotte).

Reed, a general assignment reporter for KMVT, is headed back to his native California. He joined the station in 2012.

The Boston Herald has reported that WBZ has fired ND John Verrilli. Unsurprisingly, ratings are believed to be the reason behind the decision. According to the Herald article, WBZ is third (out of 4 stations) in the evening and last in the morning. Assistant ND Sarah Burke has been installed as interim ND.

My apologies for linking to the inexcusably s***** Herald site.

Didn't realize that WBZ was behind WHDH in the ratings. That's sad considering how lousy WHDH's newscasts are.

Would you like to know what I'd like to see out of BZ? VO John Pliesse be replaced by either Scott Chapin or Bill Ratner. Don't get me wrong, Pliesse is fine, but I think Chapin or Ratner could drive in fairly better ratings at BZ, IMO.

Average viewer does not choose newscasts based on the opening voiceover...

Sean Maroney named weeknight anchor at NBC17/WNCN in Raleigh after filling in on an interim basis when Penn Holderness left the station for a job outside of TV.

Maroney joined WNCN in 2013 as a weekend evening anchor.

Will Kennedy, formerly of notorious ABC affiliate WEAR in Pensacola, joins Christine Noel and Morgan Fogarty as a 10pm anchor at WCCB in Charlotte. No word on Kirk Hawkins, whose bio has been removed from the site.

This question is for whoever lives in Charlotte: Do they still even do the three anchor format? Because from all the clips I see on YouTube it's just Morgan and Kirk, even though all three get equal billing, are featured equally in promos, etc.

Christine Noel tweeted that she and her husband are moving to the West Coast. So if Kirk is leaving, I'd imagine they'd just have two 10:00 anchors. Although they still need a replacement for Cassidy on WCCB News Edge.

Early Today and MSNBC First Look anchor Veronica De La Cruz posted on Facebook Friday that she got the main evening anchoring job at the CBS O&O in San Francisco, KPIX.

Looks like Veronica will take over for Elizabeth on the 6 & 10 PM newscasts and Elizabeth will continue her role as anchor of the 5 & 11 PM newscasts. Here's the story from KPIX:

Brian Collister joins KXAN from KTRK. Wants to be closer to his family. HUGE get for KXAN, since Brian is one of the best investigative reporters in the country. I believe he replaces Shannon Wolfson as full-time lead investigative reporter, after she was bumped up to main anchor.

KXAN was already a good station, but now that they have Collister, they'll be my go-to station in Austin.

Take that, "Austin's News Leader" (KVUE, who likes to remind you of this every chance they get)

Sorry for the double post but I also came across these, for our Memphis and Seattle peeps. I stole these both from FTVLive:

Memphis

BURLINGTON ANCHOR HEADED TO MEMPHIS

WCAX (Burlington, VT) Morning Anchor Molly Smith has signed off from the station.

"Thank you guys, I'm going to miss you a lot!" Smith told you morning Co-Anchors as she anchored her last newscast at the station.

Smith is moving to Memphis. She heads to Tennessee TV after four plus years in the Green Mountains.

She started her reporting career with WCAX near Killington, her hometown. She covered the Rutland region for the station before being bumped up to the morning Anchor.

The station says that, whether it was on the set or in the field, Molly reported the good and the bad for us. She's a journalist who will take a bit of Vermont to the South with her. We wish her the best on her new journey and say thanks for a job well done.

Anyone think she's going to WATN or WREG? Can't think of any other openings in that market off the top.

KOMO Anchor Liz Dueweke is going across the street to KCPQ and will help shore up the station's morning newscast.

Here is the internal memo that News Director Erica Hill sent out to the staff:

I’m excited to announce that we are adding to our team at Q13 FOX and enhancing the roles of our very talented morning show team!

Over the last several months, we have been working diligently on ways to evolve our morning show by strengthening the roles of our very important team and casting everyone in the areas where they shine. So I am thrilled to announce that Liz Dueweke will be joining us as co-anchor of Q13 FOX News This Morning from 5am to 10am alongside Bill Wixey, MJ McDermott and Kaci Aitchison. Kaci will be taking on an important hosting role for segments and features, designed to bring life into the show through her incredible talents, her content, and her personality. This is an elevated role for Kaci which puts her in a position of showcasing some of the what we love most about Kaci. She is excited about this new role, as am I.

Liz joins us from across the street where she has been the AM anchor at KOMO for the last year. Before that she anchored 5a-10a at the FOX affiliate in Oklahoma City and has worked in Michigan and Arizona in a variety of on air roles.

Brien Blakely, Kelly O’Connell and Tim Joyce will continue to co-host our 4:30am newscast. Brien will then showcase important breaking news from the newsroom throughout the show and Kelly will be a presence all morning by hosting important, local content. I am excited to work with both of them on ways to further develop our content in the morning show. Tim Joyce will support our weather story throughout the show along with continuing as the face of our Eye Opener Portland cut ins.

I could not be more thrilled to work on our continued growth and ways for us to build upon the amazing talents of this team. It is my belief that we are at the precipice of significant development that will put us at a competitive advantage in the marketplace and have the right team in place to build our content around.

Please join me in welcoming Liz to the team when she arrives on April 21st. Her first official day on the air will be April 28th!

Erica Hill
