As WUAB drops 7am and 9pm news, at least WOIO has expanded their weekend 11pm news to a full hour, the only station in the Cleveland market to do so.

It's been off and on for years, dating back to the Action News era.

WBNS has a new ND for the 10TV staff. Kelly Frank left for WTSP. Steve Koles comes from Sinclair's WWMT in Kalamzaoo. WBNS sure does get alot of former Sinclair employees.

Also Keith Connors who at WTNH as news director will go over to WFSB to be the new ND. As far the current ND at WFSB Dana Neves will become the station GM. from newsblues.com

Jodi Kodesh out at KNSD NBC-7 San Diego. This was posted on her Facebook page:

"Hey friends! So many of you have been asking where I've been. It took a little bit of time for me to write this. I recently learned that NBC was not going to be renewing my contract. It was my last day on air. 1f622.png It did come as a shock to me, and no, nothing happened. They just decided to go in a different direction. You all know how much I loved my job, but I really do believe that everything happens for a reason. I have nothing but love for them, and the opportunities they gave me.

If I've learned anything, it's that I have an amazing husband, and two little boys who love having me home. And, being able to sleep in is incredible. 14 years of waking up at 2 a.m. is a long time. 1f636.png

The good news is, I will always be a meteorologist, and one of my favorite parts of my job, was interacting on Facebook. I love forecasting for San Diego, I love making videos about the weather, and I plan to do even more of that now, because I'm more rested 1f60a.png

So I hope you will continue to follow along. I'll have exciting things to talk about in the future 1f61c.png1f618.png2764.png"

WITN's original facilities in Chocowinty NC will be demolished this week. They operated from that building from their sign on in September 1955 until June 2013 when they moved full-time into their Greenville facilities

Weigel is launching yet another multicast network: Start TV will debut September 3 on Weigel- and CBS-owned stations (with many of the CBS-owned affiliates carrying the network on subchannel slots currently occupied by sister-network-to-be Decades, though Weigel appears to be moving Decades to its own stations in markets such as Los Angeles and Chicago). The network will focus on police and detective procedural programs with strong female leads (such as The Closer, Medium, The Good Wife, Crossing Jordan, Cold Case, Profiler and [early 2000s Lifetime series] The Division).

I wonder how far into other markets Start TV will get, especially those with little to no room for more diginets, and/or those affected by repacking.

The initial press release shows stations owned by Bahakel Communications (WCCB, WOLO, WAKA/WBMM) adding them at the start (pun intended). My question is whether or not they'll pull Antenna TV from WCCB, which would make them the second Charlotte station to drop that diginet (when you look at it, dropping QVC is the logical choice from a viewer's point of view, but that's a guaranteed revenue stream for the station--and also WOLO).

WWBT meteorologist Ros Runner announced he's exiting the station in September after 8 1/2 years. Before WWBT, he was on WTVR and WSLS.

(BTW, Richard Bland College is near my hometown of Petersburg)

Meanwhile, down I-64 East in Hampton Roads, WVEC meteorologist Iisha Scott announced she'll be exiting the station to join sister station WCNC in Charlotte.

A little more on Colleen Henry from the Journal Sentinel (no painful Gannett autoplay on this one); her husband beat some pretty aggressive cancer and they're off for well-earned relaxation in Puerto Vallarta. Her loss is big for WISN, but they have so many veterans and prime talent there that will take the baton in her absence and honor.

ETA - Even as she got a salute at the end of the 6pm show, she was still working a story in the top of the show about kids abandoned in a car at a local casino, doorknocking and confrontation of the kid's mom and all. Gotta have massive respect for still putting in good work on the last day!

ETA - Here's said valedictory in full;

Holy Watkiss!

I thought somebody killed him long ago...

So Congrats Mike!

You made it.

You got out alive.

You had fun.

That's all that matters.

The short version is... don't sext at work. Otherwise, there's a good chance you'll be out.

Look at KFOR's Lance West for example. Out after 23 years.

https://www.thelostogle.com/2018/07/18/lance-west-resigns-from-kfor-over-sexting-controversy/

How did they knew about Lance was sexting? Did someone look one of his social media accounts?

Saw his Twitter bio and he did change his Twitter Profile Picture as well so his 23 year career at KFOR is done

I swear...

3/4ths of all the millennials will be unemployable by age 40... based on previous social media postings.

Live by facebook and twitter...

Die by facebook and twitter...
