With FOUR 9pm newscasts in the Mobile-Pensacola market, you figure how long that would last.....

Well, the first shoe to drop is the WPMI-produced 9pm show on their sister station, WJTC UTV 44. The final show airs tonight, and beginning on Monday, will move to a half-hour show at 7pm.

Sinclair probably didn't want one 9pm newscast competing against another 9pm newscast on their sister station, that being WEAR's 9pm newscast on WFGX, which does much, much better in the ratings being the only Pensacola-focused 9pm newscast in the market.

*cough* WKRG's 9pm news on WFNA is Pensacola-based too *cough*

Actually, since WKRG revamped their newscasts about a month ago, the WFNA 9pm show is now just another WKRG newscast and doesn't focus on Pensacola like they used to....as a whole, WKRG has stepped up their coverage of the Florida counties to Destin and has come to rely heavily on their sister stations to cover the fringes of each other's markets...

If anyone’s not been posting about it here, Kathy Brock is now our next victim to retirement at WLS. She’s been at the station for 28 years, and will be missed.

It in the Chicago forum and they have videos, but she still has some few good years left in her.

Adding to Columbus, Tylar Bacome has returned to WCMH after a 12 year hiatus. He anchored the 6pm with Colleen Marshall tonight.

He was cut as part of NBC’s 2006-07 cutbacks and last anchored NewsChannel 4 Today with Anietra Hamper. He was cut along with John Ivanic, Elizabeth Scarborough (yes, Chuck’s daughter), Holly Hollingsworth, Monique Ming-Laven, and Nancy Burton.

Not necessarily news-related, but TVNewsCheck reports that WAGA will launch a new half-hour entertainment show called The Georgia Scene starting July 20. The show will run for a 8-week period as a "summer preview show".

Hosted by Good Day Atlanta’s Alyse Eady, Sharon Lawson and Paul Milliken, this program is designed to “connect viewers with all of the biggest productions in the state,” WAGA says, since Georgia has become one of the top locations for filming, with recent movies like Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War as well as ongoing series, specifically, Stranger Things, The Walking Dead and Fox’s Star and The Resident.

Longtime DC sports personality Chick Hernandez has left NBC Sports Washington, this is a bummer.

At least the guy got to pen a nice goodbye post.

Does he control that twitter ID or is that an NBC branded thing?

No. That's an NBC branded thing, most of the NBC Sports Regional Networks people have to have their Twitter handles start or end with "NBCS"

He should be able to change it. Very rarely I’ve seen people “surrender” their accounts when leaving or starting a new job. The only issue is when you change your name where I believe you have to be re-verified.

It’s a way fans will be able to connect with him and new viewers to see his past work. In a sense I wish they wouldn’t insist on branded accounts maybe generic one with news or tv at the end.

Last few years he was over at BNS as a reporter. Kelly Frank and him worked at GCL in Atlanta . Both returned to Cols, and were working at 10TV. Kelly now at WTSP in St.Pete.
