It's possible that ratings are a factor. WEWS seems to blow up "Good Morning Cleveland" every 12-18 months. This goes in effect one week from Wednesday (8/9). Prior to that date, it will have a special hourly 4pm broadcasts on Monday and on Election Day Tuesday. I wouldn't be shocked if it happens in the future. Either one (or both) of those syndie shows (Steve Harvey & Ellen Degeneres) could end up being on NBC Boston in the Fall of next year. The Ellen deal for the non-NBC-owned stations are due at the end of this season.
