I have issues with FTVLive because many news reporters have done more than FTVLive has ever done. They often say that they reported "FIRST" but they may not have reported accurately, and while I think being first isnt a bad thing in itself, I do take issue when they report first, but the information is incorrect. And what has FTVLive done to help the news media business?

He stirs up a lot of shit. A lot of the stories are just gossip or posting screw ups. He does break some industry news.

Have you read today story about management and Channel 4? How do you both feel about this story? He can be very snarky at times, and other times shock when he praises people too.

Do you see Art Rascon doing 5, 6 news while Erik will do 4pm/10pm? Also are they still doing the (3) team of anchors at 6:30 or 10pm still?

A lot like Jerry Springer, but I must admit, even the guy who runs FTVLive (whatever his name is) at least has some credibility. I dont think he has enough however.

Another change in Texas broadcasting, this time in Waco. First KCEN-TV is back of being KCEN-HD News to now Channel 6 News, and now a legendary Central Texas news anchor is scaling back her anchoring duties. Ann Harder of Waco's KXXV ABC 25 is stepping down from the 10PM newscast after 20 years of working the Nightbeat, but will continue to anchor the newscasts 5 & 6PM. No word on who will take over the 10PM anchoring duties.

Do tabloids get stories nobody else would report on?

Yes,

Tabloids are like the animal shelter. They take the poor sad unwanted stories and make them pretty and adoptable. Sometime they get really good stories like a pretty Collie, but mostly it's mutts.

We like mutts.

Actually, its Makenzi Henderson who will anchor it starting September 5th. Until then, Seth Kovar will anchor alone.

WPTZ is now branding as "NBC 5." Guessing the timing was meant to coincide with the Olympics.

http://www.wptz.com/

Quite a few of their staff now have "My NBC 5" Twitter handles: https://twitter.com/WPTZ/lists/wptz-reporters-anchors

Peculiarly, their L3 bug doesn't reflect it ...yet

But without FTVLive, then who would've guessed that Sinclair would take WSJV's FOX and make it a part of its own? He was right on that front all along.

So there a breaking story on FTVLIVE.com but it does sounds like he HATES FOX O&O; if you ever read his stories he calls it "The Firm" base of the novel/movie. Not only is he snarky, but at times he out for blood too.

The bug that's used online isn't the same as what's used on air. They probably didn't get around to updating it. For example WBAL has the Olympic logo on air but they use the old version.

The logo looks off.

He may be snarky, but I doubt he's "out for blood", otherwise you would see him constantly post false crap on his site just for the attention. FTVLive is much the same as Newsblues, they're there to talk/discuss/gossip about the industry. If you guys don't like it, or don't agree with the way he writes things or what he writes...don't read it.

KSHB Creative Services Director was arrested on July 4th for domestic battery, but the show went on without him for a promo shoot they recently had. Unlikely KSHB will report it, but it's likely a new position will open up over there..

Just saw the Promo during olympics coverage. Looks very nice and it seems that they are going with a new slogan. Gone is "breaking news leader" and in is "clear complete coverage" or something like that. In my opinion I'm glad BNL is out it was getting old and tired. Hopefully they debut a new color scheme when their graphics return from their Olympic placeholder ones.

I personally prefer newsblues over FTVLive. They even give the link to the current DMA rankings from nielsen.

The "BN/WL" slogan was bad to start off with. It worked fine a few years ago when they were almost number 1 and actually were on top of breaking news pretty well, but their slogan is so impersonal. Fox 4 is "Working For You" which they've had for decades. KCTV is now "Stands For Kansas City" which is great. KMBC is "Coverage You Can Count On" which is generic, but still personal. "BNL" isn't any of those things.

if it's really "Clear, Complete Coverage" then it's better and a throw back to like, 2007.

From NorthPine.com, WDAY-TV is launching a 9pm broadcast on two of its subchannels. Simultaneously.

NORTH DAKOTA:

Forum Communications ABC affiliate WDAY-TV (Fargo) is planning a new 9 p.m. newscast to air on its subchannels. Promos running on the station say the new newscast will air on the WDAY'Z XTRA and Justice Network subchannels beginning August 29, which are seen on WDAY-TV as well as WDAZ (Devils Lake-Grand Forks), KBMY (Bismarck), and KMCY (Minot). The newscast launch will come around the same time that WDAY-DT2 and WDAZ-DT2 lose their CW affiliation, which is moving to a subchannel of Gray TV's future low-power station, KXJB-LD/30 (Horace-Fargo). (8/7/2016)

1) I will provide more information when available on my blog, ASAP.

2) Now we know where KVLY 11 will broadcast either CBS or CW programming on.

This was planned for months. After it announced in December that it'll get the CW on "KXJB-D2", Gray bought some LPs around the Fargo/Grand Forks area.

  • K30LT-D Horace (which is now KXJB-LD)
  • K28MA-D Argusville
  • K30LR-D Grand Forks

Now even though they haven't officially announced what they'll put on main channel, I wouldn't be surprised if they put CBS in HD on it's main channel.
