I wonder where Dagmar Midcap over at KNSD has been. She hasn't been on air in over a month and they've literally had every weather personality at the station filling in. This week and last week it's been Sheena Parveen from mornings.

She is no longer on the station website, and offers no hints of an employment change and any of her social media channels.

Apparently Carolyn Bruck may have finally departed WCNC. Need further confirmation here. She was well liked on both the morning and recently afternoon shows. But she has had at least 2 leave of absence periods in the past before ultimately returning. Hope to see her back on a CLT channel. Wish her good luck.

KGTV celebrating 70 years with a half hour special that includes interviews with former anchors Bree Walker and Carol Lebeau.

KGTV did a poor job on that half hour special. It seemed like it was about Kimberly Hunt special and only 1 min bit of the previous on air talents which they did poorly on.

Totally agree. Sadly, there really aren't that many on-air talent left that even remotely have the connection/association with the KGTV of the late 80s-early 00s when they were on top of their game.

This whole celebration seems like it was done in haste and on the cheap. Let's get a couple of sound bites, some b-roll and a few cheap decorations/logos and call it a day.

KTUL’s Chief Meteorologist Dan Threlkeld is retiring on the 29th of this month after 40 years of being a broadcast meteorologist. After leaving KFOR he joined KJRH as chief replacing Jeff Lazalier and was at 2 for 11 years before being replaced by Brett Anthony and after a few years off TV working for Oklahoma State University in Tulsa he made his return to news at KTUL helping them out when Mike Collier left to join 2 during the flooding in 2019 Dan ultimately became chief not to long after. His replacement is Dr. Chris Nunley formerly at KING 5 in Seattle.

Former ABC News correspondent Kenneth Moton, becomes the new 6 & 11pm anchor on WTTG next Monday.

And this was announced back on Friday. But WWL has added two former Houston anchors to join their Morning show.

Former KPRC anchor Brandon Walker and former KTRK reporter/anchor Brheanna Boudreaux (fka Brhe Berry) will join Leslie Spoon & Eric Paulsen as anchors of the morning show, beginning on October 16.

The station hasn't specified the anchor assignments (which one will anchor which part of the AM broadcast, etc.). But they did add that Leslie Spoon will be the "full-time" anchor of the noon show (while still doing part of the AM show) beginning November 27.

What happened to Rob Desir at WTTG?

I was wondering the same thing. It is eerie, because there is nothing online, mainly FB posts from viewers mentioning how he has just disappeared from everything WTTG. Very interesting. Could have gotten another position at another station, and under a Non-Compete, or at least that what I am assuming.

According to his linkedin profile he left back in May. No word on why he left after only being there two years. On all his social media platforms in the comments section with fans asking his whereabouts.

Another day, another lawsuit:

https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/article279512624.html

A former multimedia sports journalist for KCTV5 has filed a federal lawsuit against the news station’s parent company, claiming he was discriminated against due to his race. Adam Orduna of Overland Park filed the lawsuit Monday in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kansas, against Gray Media Group Inc., which does business in Kansas City as KCTV5. Orduna is the third KCTV5 journalist to file a discrimination lawsuit against the television company in the last four months.

Im hoping he’ll pop up on WRC maybe as a Sports Anchor. They desperately need an evening sports anchor, since they have the news anchors reading the sports reports most nights.

The way Rob disappeared from WTTG is puzzling to say the least. But Wisdom Martin left recently to head over to WUSA as well.

I didn't realize, if you go to the quick links on their website and select 7Oth anniversary, there's actually a lot of interviews with former personalities. Most seem to be short blurbs. Hopefully the full interviews are available somewhere.

Longtime WOOD-TV morning meteorologist, Terri DeBoer, is retiring from TV after almost 30 years on WOOD-TV.  I personally know Terri and have been on many a tour of the WOOD-TV studios.  She is the best morning meteorologist in Grand Rapids by far and I'm sad to see her go.

Not anymore. The sale to RNN is off. ShopHQ's new white knight is a company owned by the founder of 5-Hour Energy. More from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

And this guy is just getting started. It looks like he's looking to be a major-minor player in broadcast media.

UPDATE: It seems as the failed sale of iMedia Brands/ShopHQ to RNN either created bad blood between the two, or triggered a contractual out clause.

Because in a very recent development, ShopHQ is no longer on WRNN in the NYC market. ShopHQ's replacement? The Liquidation Channel, aka ShopLC. One can assume this has been mirrored at RNN's other stations.

No announcement of the switch was made on either side.

After 4 years at NBC 15 almost 25 years in the Mobile/Pensacola market (20 at WKRG), Alan Sealls is retiring in January.

Another blow to a station that was decimated earlier this year in Sinclair's local news bloodbath.

It seems Marquee has found a new news partner in Idaho.

Marquee Broadcasting-owned Boise Fox station KNIN has ended its news partnership with Scripps-owned KIVI. From the BoiseDev publication, it stated that its made a new agreement for Sinclair's CBS station KBOI to produce its weekday 7am & its daily 9pm broadcasts.

After the acquisition from former owner Gray, Marquee was initially planning on starting its own news operation on KNIN before deciding to partner up with KBOI.
