I don't know if anybody was aware of what's happening in Southeast Texas, but Beaumont's KBMT-TV 12 (12.1 ABC & 12.2 NBC) had to evacuate their studio on the count of high flooding in their studio. They'll be broadcasting at their sister station, KHOU-TV for the time being.

Their building looks like an old car dealership.

Well, looks like Tegna's got more hurricane/flooding bills to pay...

UncleBarky is reporting that Jeff Jamison will be departing KTVT soon after 16 years there.  The station meteorologist isn't revealing yet what he'll be doing next.  Of the current group of KTVT's weatherfolks, Jamison had been there the longest.

That building dates back to long before Tegna owned it (and past owners couldn't afford anything bigger). Regardless, the fact it survived Harvey tells something.

KPRC is now the third Houston TV station airing an hour of news at 4p, joining KHOU and KTRK. Started this week. They had been running 30 minutes of news, followed by Extra. Extra will continue to be seen at 12:30p and 3:30a. This is a return to an hour of news at 4p for KPRC. They cut it back to half an hour several years ago citing news overload. But I guess those ad dollars were too good to pass up ...

Could've gave KRIV Extra, but they would've buried it to after 11pm.

But it was only a matter of time before 2 brought back the 4:30 news.

Staying in Houston, KTRK's Melanie Lawson was a victim of a car break-in while eating out.

Unfortunately that’s a normality here in the Bay Area. KTVU’s Frank Somerville got broken into last week.

Everybody, I won't be active on TVNT for the next three weeks due to this year's State Fair of Texas starting tomorrow, but I will be active when I get a day off. And CBS 11 (KTVT) will be at the fair every Friday at 4:00, 4:30, 5:00 & 6:00pm. I'll be posting pictures of the team and BTS while I'm at work.

Then what's the point of Fox attempting to buying WSFL at this point?

Remember that was during the Sinclair-Tribune deal, when Fox attempted to buy those handful of Tribune stations.

During the Nexstar deal, WSFL was Spun-off to Scripps. Fox backed out of buying any spin-off, leaving the door open for Scripps & Tegna. Even them both outbidded Apollo.

Understood. There was no way Fox was leaving SVN in the first place, seeing that it is one of their most-watched affiliates in the country.

If not, THE most-watched FOX affiliate in the country. I think WSVN regularly pulls in 300,000+ viewers for their news at 10pm (I saw that number years ago but not sure of 2019 numbers tho).

I believe WSVN has been more successful as a FOX station then it was with NBC way back when. Furthermore, I've always wondered whether FOX will attempt to purchase Sunbeam Television when Mr. Ansin passes on.
