Smart move...

She cuts her cost of living by 1/3rd...goes to a respectable news town, and she still gets to eat and play, close to the bay area...but not TOO close.

Is Sacramento an adjacent market over the mountains?

Yes.

Fairfield is one of the lucky cities located between SF and Sacramento Markets and it’s pretty unique on their cable lineup since they get both ABC and CBS channels except NBC Bay Area, KRON and KTVU. However they have KTVU Plus to catch some KTVU newscasts if they don’t want to watch KTXL

But what’s also different in Fairfield is that they must probably have a sharing agreement and don’t blackout programming from either or of the 2 markets it shares.

In San Diego, KTLA used to be on ch 14 on its cable line up and was mostly blacked out with paid programming 90% of the time. KSWB had the rights to air WB Programming during that era before KTLA was dropped around 2007

For ratings purposes, I'm fairly sure that Fairfield is considered the San Francisco DMA, but Vacaville is in Sacramento's. That means, for example, that KOVR doesn't get credit for anyone in Fairfield who might be watching them.

There are a number of odd overlapping carriage situations in the two markets that mostly date back to older cable deals or some other reason. KCRA is still on the Comcast lineup in Contra Costa County, and I'm 99% sure that's a leftover from the KRON/KNTV/NBC spat. KTVU can also be seen OTA and on cable in the Eureka/Redding and Monterey/Salinas markets, though a lot of that also stems from its superstation era in the 80s.

Speaking for all of us Who Dats, We were certainly not dissapointed by what happened last night. Of course, a lot of us never watched.

So I guess you'll regard Super Bowl 54 as Super Bowl 53, and you'll have Pittsburgh as the only team who have won 6 Super Bowls.

Well...since virtually everyone is in HD (and the HD News Thread disappeared in the last board upgrade)....

It appears that little old WBKB-TV in Alpena, MI went HD sometime this past fall (around the beginning of September)

Scroll down in WBKB's YouTube Channel to around September 7th and you'll see the last SD weather cast and the first one in HD...

So who's left in Widescreen SD....and. even...gasp....4x3 now?!?!?!?!?!?

As of the first of the year Scripps grounded WTMJ’s news chopper. That makes WISN the last remaining station in Milwaukee with a chopper. #chopper4withpowerzoom

There were rumors of a few years ago of a chopper share between WTMJ and WISN that would have gotten them both (and possibly WITI and WDJT if they wanted to buy in) a HD chopper... Hopefully that avenue is explored again.

#MeanwhileInTampaBay, after close to 25 years of working for WTSP, Mr Reginald Roundtree just got... let’s say, cut down

There were rumors in 2017 that he was going to be replaced by Mark Rivera, who ended up leaving for WLS.

As for the situation with the attorney, I don't know what to think. It seems a bit unethical. At any rate, I am sad to see him go. In some of the candid facebook stuff they used to do in the studio, Reggie seemed like a serious news guy. He had a good run.

No legitimate news sources have covered it.  A meteorite hits land fairly often and unless it’s a large size, like in Russia that blasted out windows, it probably isn’t news worthy. Ontop or the crisis in Venezuela news crews are likely to avoid the country for their safety or stay in urban areas.

I was not aware the legitimacy of the story was ever in question.

Citizens and  regular people ARE legit news sources. They are the most organic of sources as they are the first witness...not some "unnamed source".

Is that why NBC,FOX,CNN and all the others are not covering it?

Is somebody or some agency calling this fake?

I think any time flaming rocks fall from space causing fires on the ground...and children to run in terror it's considered "newsworthy".

EDIT: Snip....

In the end....@rkolsen was right...nobody cared except the poor Venezuelans who had the hunger scared out of them. Amazing the US networks completely ignored it...not that we really need to be reminded that flaming stuff from space can wipe us all out real quick.

WTVT is up next to get him! But we'll see...

Do we really think FOX13 going to pick up a 60 something-year-old? Plus their anchor bench is tight.
