WAVY 10 Fan 232
Scary scene during Friday's 7:30 newscast on Louisville NBC affiliate WAVE when anchor Dawne Gee collapsed on-air and was rushed to the hospital (apparently a cause hasn't been made public; but thankfully it does appear she's well on the road to recovery) http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/louisville-anchor-dawne-gee-collapses-on-air/182360
Guest Former Member 207
I posted this already in the Los Angeles News section, but KTTV morning news anchor Tony McEwing is taking a medical leave for several weeks; reporter/fill-in anchor Bob DeCastro will substitute for McEwing in the interim... http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/kttv-anchor-tony-mcewing-out-on-medical-leave/182373

Not a surprise. That makes S!nclair's retrans fight with Block/Buckeye Cable two years ago even more pointless and stupid.

Sinclair was only the death knell.
TexasTVNews 1365
WNWO is in so much turmoil, the ratings, layoffs, etc. You want my advice, here's what Sinclair should do with WNWO... SELL THE STATION! Sell WNWO to another broadcast group that wants to revamp and revive NBC 24 and dig themselves out of the ratings slump.
rkolsen 1675
WBAL looks to be airing two specials on December 7 regarding Hairspray LIVE. The first one is "Hairspray: From Baltimore to Broadway and Beyond" at 7PM and at 7:30 "Countdown to Hairspray Live". Obviously the first one is local but is the Countdown show an optional program by NBC? http://www.wbaltv.com/article/preview-hairspray-live-and-watch-special-shows-on-wbal-tv-11/8352854
CLETVFan 363
Also speaking of Cleveland's CBS 19 https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1156665624382555 Jason is going to do the weather for the 5pm, 6pm, and 11pm news on WOIO and the 10pm news on WUAB. Jeff Tanchak will remain on the 4pm news on 19 and 9pm news on 43. Basically, Jeff and Jason will tag team on weeknights. Everyone else stays put - Samantha Roberts on mornings and at Noon, Beth McLeod on weekends, and Jon Loufman on fill-ins.
tyrannical bastard 3410
WKRG in Mobile is FINALLY expanding their morning newscast to 4:30AM beginning on December 5th. Aside from WPMI, (which is maxed out news-wise and had to drop theirs last year), they become the last station in the market to move up their AM news. Speaking of WPMI... DirecTV and Uverse subscribers could lose them and sister station WJTC on December 1st. http://local15tv.com/news/local/wpmiwjtc-may-be-dropped-by-directv-u-verse This must only be an isolated occurrence....WEAR/WFGX and other Sinclair-owned stations are unaffected. Not even Deerfield stations in other markets are affected either.
memnews 36
Kendall Downing has joined WMC-TV as the weekend morning news anchor (and weekday reporter). That's why I said Raycom or Gray should buy the intellectual rights to WNWO, meaning that they transfer "NBC24" to either 11.4 or 13.4 and WNWO goes to HSH.
Asomrjsurf 6
KMBC has a new Anchor who's going to do 5pm and 9pm meaning Ackerman or Moritz isn't going to be doing 5pm anymore and Ketz or Moritz 9pm anymore. KMBC or KCWE needs to do a Midday Newscast,5:30pm,6:30pm. Halifax filling in for Abby or got Hilands job.

TheRolyPoly 1839
The owner of WOAY TV in the Beckley-Bluefield WV market passed away on Nov 23rd. Thoughts and prayers to the family and station employees. http://www.wvva.com/story/33792503/2016/11/Friday/woay-owner-robbie-thomas-passes-away-on-day-before-thanksgiving Condolences to him, but will that finally mean that WOAY will be sold to a better ownership group? Somebody like Gray?
news89 467
Condolences to him, but will that finally mean that WOAY will be sold to a better ownership group? Somebody like Gray? Gray would be best option for WOAY since they already have WSAZ and WDBJ near by. Soon to have WDTV under ownership.

johnnya2k6 171
Remember when I said about Lisa Rayam possibly going to public broadcasting after all these years at Fox 5? Well... http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2016/11/30/lisa-rayam-formerly-fox-5-joining-gpbs-lawmakers/ (Stephany Fisher, by the way, is still freelancing at The Washington Post; hopefully in time for February sweeps, we'll be seeing her back on the air, and at Fox 5)
tyrannical bastard 3410
And MORE expansion at WKRG beginning on December 5th....they are adding a newscast at 6:30 PM! https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2016/11/30/wkrg-finally-expanding-430-am-also-add-local-news-630-pm This comes after WPMI cancelled their 6:30 show on sister station WJTC earlier this year. More shocking is that this newscast will displace Andy Griffith, which has aired in that time slot for well over a decade...maybe longer...usually ranking 2nd to WALA's airing of Wheel of Fortune. Andy will be moving to 9:30 on sister station WFNA after their 9pm show. Something has to give sooner or later in Mobile/Pensacola. I don't think there is any other market in the country where you have FOUR LIVE newscasts competing against each other at 9PM. I wish someone would counter-program WALA in the mornings and bring back a 7-8am or 7-9am newscast or replay the 5-7 on their sister station during that time. The opportunities for error are many having to beam content and signals back and forth.
