WPMI Local 15 in Mobile debuted "Gulf Coast Today" at 12:30 today...shortening their hour-long noon newscast to only a half hour.

Andrea Ramey, their Sunday anchor anchored the show since Kelly Jones left the station several weeks ago. No replacement has been named....yet, and it looks like it be a week-to-week thing until someone is hired or promoted into the now-vacant morning/noon anchor slot.

Also, WFNA CW 55 is giving longtime radio host "Uncle Henry" his own show from 5-7am beginning September 29th.

http://newsradio710.iheart.com/onair/uncle-henry-40446/the-uncle-henry-show-goes-back-15095129/

This will likely be a 2-hour simulcast of his morning drive show originating from his radio studio. iHeartMedia's facilities are upstairs from WKRG and WFNA, and his station (WNTM) was once WKRG-AM when it was under common ownership by the Giddens family.

Tribune renews FOX affiliation with 6 affiliates (KCPQ not on the list).

http://www.tribunemedia.com/tribune-broadcasting-renews-affiliation-agreement-with-fox-broadcasting-company/

I wouldn't read too much into this. They own 14 affiliates and seven (the former O&Os/Local TV LLC stations) didn't make the list, so theirs may not expire for a while.

KCPQ's affiliation agreement expires in 2018.

I think they had a different affiliation renewal last year during the whole FOX/Tribune spat.

It's both. Tribune (smartly IMHO) arranged it where KCPQ's expires at the same time that the Former O&O stations acquired from Local TV ends.

Yup. Although, many were speculating that FOX would get their own O&O one way or another in Seattle after the affiliation deal ended, but with all the b.s. that's going on at 21st Century FOX, I'm having doubts that that's what will happen.

Well, I guess four stations with a 6pm is too crowded for one small market. So KQDS is throwing in the towel and moving it to 5:30pm.

From Northpine:

MINNESOTA/WISCONSIN:

After just a month with four 6 p.m. TV newscasts, Duluth is about to lose one. The city got a fourth 6 p.m. newscast when Quincy's KBJR-DT2 launched "CBS3 News at 6" in early August. Now, FOX 21 (KQDS-TV) is planning to move its 6 p.m. newscast to 5:30 on Monday, Sept. 19, according the

WMBF news anchor Michael Maely was arrested this past weekend for DUI and speeding around 100 m.p.h. He was off for this past week. This is the second time he's ran into the law. The first time he was charged with trespassing while doing a story but I believe those charges were dropped.

Couple of misc. changes.

First off..to Radar he was very well beloved and I know the staff at KPRC will miss him dearly.

Also, KPRC has added a 1 PM Pay to Play newscast Im asusming (kind of the same at sister station KSAT), where its called Houston Life. This expands their weekday midday newscast offerings to 2 1/2 hours a day (starting at 11:30 AM)

Also, former sister station to KPRC, WPLG no longer has Constance Jones on the payroll. Her last day was yesterday after a remarkable 9 1/2 years with the station. She will be headed up to Atlanta to work for FOX 5. Currently, her noon anchor slot is being handled by Jenise Fernandez and a new traffic woman Nicole Perez takes over.

In other WPLG news, as mentioned in the shoutbox, Jacey Birch was in a car accident. She is currently pregnant at the moment. Looks like the temp. replacement is going to be Shyanne Malone (their weekend evening anchor)

* 11:00am. It starts at 11:00am, goes on until 12:30pm and then returns at 1:00pm for HL.

Yep... I'm surprised Jones stayed with WPLG for that long. She was a general assignment reporter before becoming traffic/noon anchor and gave that up to Nicole Perez for a seamless transition.

And best wishes to Jacey. She's been there a long time, since the beginning of the "Local 10" name and was weather anchor at first before handling traffic and now does regular news in the morning and 9:00am. Hopeful that her leg heals up quickly and comes back soon. And good to know that her unborn baby was never hurt.

Inside Edition now has an updated theme with new graphics. they only teased it in a open and in a topical promo.

Yeah I saw it too. Not really a fan of the new music, sounds like the original theme is going through puberty.

However, I noticed today, they seem to have reverted back to the old theme.

That won't be Altieri's first stint in the market; he was previously at KUSA.

DCRTV reporting that WUSA is axing their 7pm newscast in favor of a show titled Off Script, featuring veteran anchor/reporter Bruce Johnson. I wonder if this will be along the same lines as Next w/ Kyle Clark on KUSA?

Also in WUSA-related news, it seems evening anchor Jan Jeffcoat's move to the morning newscast has been made official, as they've been airing TNF promotions featuring her with Mike Hydeck.

It would behoove W*USA9 to pick-up Leon Harris for their evening shows at 6&11pm.
