Cleveland Meteorologist Angelica Campos is leaving WJW in Cleveland for the Chief Met job at KGTV in San Diego. So the big question of the day is, what will happen to current weeknight weather anchor Pat Brown? Pat is very well liked in San Diego, and she got the short end of the stick when she was dumped at KNSD during the NBC 2.0 cuts. Hopefully she'll still be on the air in some capacity.

I don't feel like starting a new thread but when I came across the following image from WXII and I BAS was (damn autocorrect) surprised they had different lower thirds compared to other Hearst station. It took me a minute and realized that for some odd reason they are using the header graphic for their lower third.

WCIA's Dave Benton passed away after a remarkable battle with brain cancer.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family as well as the folks at WCIA.

Incredibly sad. Thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and colleagues.

Who else does editorials? I think WPLG 10 still does, but rarely now.

Being a "weather anchor" does not help your resume these days either though...although she does have seniority on her side.

WWL has hired former WVUE news director and NOLA native Keith Esparros as its new news director. Esparros replaces Bill Siegel, who left the Channel 4 in January to be the new director or news strategy for the E.W. Scripps Co.

Esparros starts his new gig June 15.

Shocking to hear this officially, Pat Brown at KGTV just announced that she is leaving, and where she goes next will be "undetermined." Also, Ashlee DeMartino is also leaving 10News in early June, to head to KSAZ.

The rumors had been flying for several days now. The news of her departure was posted a few days ago on this thread I believe. Ashlee is heading to KPHO/KTVK, not KSAZ. Frankly, all this turnover these last few months is really surprising. I am not sure if it's Scripps ordering these cuts, or the new news director making her mark, but it doesn't bode well for a station that is trying to play catch up to KFMB.

Richard Engel got married today. I remember an interview he gave to Jay Leno a few years ago he described that his first marriage fell apart during the stress of his job. I believe he got divorced during the early years of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. I can't imagine how that type of stress would affect a marriage. But that was then and this is now. I wish him and his wife a lifetime of happiness.

Considering how long Pat has been doing weather segments on TV, I was surprised that she never obtained a "degree" in meteorology even from one of the distance learning schools so she could be called a "meteorologist"

Ashley did attend ASU and was a Cardinals cheerleader so it is a return "home" for her. She said she is going to KPHO (CBS-5) which also shares space (and talent) with KTVK (Ind-3), not KSAZ (FOX-10).

I knew there wouldn't be an external search. Here's the new anchor lineup:

5 p.m.: Toya Washington, Patrick Paolantonio, Mark Baden6 & 10 p.m.: Kathy Mykleby, Joyce Garbaciak, Patrick Paolantonio, Mark Baden, Dan Needles

So Tim Elliott likely takes Patrick's AM spot, they get a new breaking news anchor from a smaller Hearst market. Joyce was anchoring weekends if I'm not mistaken, so they will need to find a replacement there as well. Here's the very long winded release.

I think WISN made the right moves here.

Nope. Chase Cain from XETV starts as new AM co-anchor on/around July 6.

She is a good utility player, so she will continue to do well no matter what she does on-air. In her short time at 10-News she showed that she is more than just a wxmodel.

Pat Brown makes too much money, and KGTV has abandon legacy viewers.

The soul of KGTV is almost gone.

I wanted to say that the cuts at KGTV were isolated to the station and some if it's long time talent, then I read that WFTS' main weather guy Wayne Shattuck "retired." And by retired we all know...pushed out. So that says that these cuts are coming from Scripps corporate. Which is a shame because Scripps did a really good job these last two years in really investing in the station to make it competitive in the evening and now with all these moves, they don't care about alienating the long time viewers.

FTVlive.com is reporting that Jeff Tanchak is out at CBS19 and the station making many changes. Along with branding name to Cleveland 19 News.

http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/6/1/out-the-door-in-cleveland

It will be interesting to see who replaces him, as this is a clear signal that the days of "Action News" are as very much numbered. If Bruce (Edwards) Kalinowski hadn't been picked up by WKYC, he would have been a good choice to return to his former position as he held it before Tanchak was hired.

It looks like the management at NBC 7 San Diego decided not to continue their payment to WeatherRate and have lost the "Most Accurate Forecast" banner. KGTV ABC-10 is now boasting that they are the most accurate forecast in San Diego with a number of promos.

Tanchak isn't the only one out the door, George Smith is also going bye-bye. What the hell's goin' on over at 19?

Another veteran weatherman is out the door as well, longtime WFTS meteorologist Wayne Shattuck is leaving after over twenty years
