bammy9 26
Scary day for two San Francisco TV reporters. KTVU's Cara Liu was beaten by a female Sunday afternoon while covering a story at the flea market. Station sources say she's okay. Also, KRON reporter Jackie Sissel was robbed of their equipment this morning in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. Sissel was getting ready to do a story under an I-280 overpass. Two men with bandannas were the ones who robbed the reporter. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/one-sf-bay-area-reporter-beaten-another-robbed-in-two-separate-incidents_b128132

tyrannical bastard 3410
You might remember a few months back when Kurt Ludlow was unceremoniously dumped from 10TV in Columbus. Well, he was thisclose to accepting another offer at another station, when the lawyers for Dispatch would "move swiftly" against this attempt to make a living, even though his contract was not renewed. So now, Kurt (and his good friend Dr. Bill Adrian) have launched a GoFundMe account to raise up to 20k to cover his "legal fees" since he "can't work in Columbus".... He's already raised almost $5,000 as of this posting. ...and here's the link. http://www.gofundme.com/HelpKurtLudlow It almost pains me to say that WSYX and Sinclair seem to be the only station with their act together in Columbus anymore. Media General is driving WCMH into the ground further and further, and things just keep getting worse for "Central Ohio's News Leader". Now they're stiffing DirecTV for retrans $$$$. If things keep getting worse, perhaps it's time for the Wolfe family to cash out while they're still afloat...

This isn't the first time the Wolfes' play this hardball with talent, and the problem has been since it a family owned entity they can play these games. Usually when they kick you off the air they have the standard 6 month non-compete clause, but they don't want the competition to snag their talent. PelicanGuy 117
A reminder, WUPL (sister station of WWL) will begin its 6:30 pm newscast on Sept. 9. It'll be anchored by Natalie Shepherd and Thahn Troung (and yes, Thahn is the permanent male anchor for the evening newscasts. Someone asked about that recently.) KevCor 344
From the "official" release for 13News Now at 4pm (http://www.wvec.com/home/13News-Now-to-launch-new-4-pm-newscast-273832461.html) : A new era for news in Hampton Roads begins on Monday, September 8th as we launch our first edition of 13News Now at 4 p.m. Unlike a traditional two-anchor sit down newscast, this newscast will be on the move and brought to you by several of 13News Now's top anchors, including David Alan, Janet Roach, Lucy Bustamante, and LaSalle Blanks. This fast pace newscast will include new features like LaSalle Blanks daily feature "Making Your Mark", a daily "newsmaker" interview, and our trending/social media segment "Chime in" where your voice will help us make the news. Ashley Smith will track your afternoon commute and have the latest breaking traffic news. Weather Authority Chief Meteorologist Jeff Lawson will track storms and give you a weather outlook tailored to your late afternoon and evening. Plus you will get the breaking news and big stories from the team you already know well at 13News Now. We'll see how it turns out. Also, while we're on that, they are honing in on the Daybreak replacement for LaSalle, who left the show to go to the aforementioned 4pm show. From Vanessa Coria: [Weekend PM Anchor] Brian [Farrell] is filling in for 2 days as part of his audition. We also have a gal coming next week and at least three other candidates you won't see on the air, coming for interviews! And so, the process begins....
