WSMV gets new website

Finally, one of a few lone holdouts with the old Meredith WorldNow/Frankly design has updated to the same style site that azfamily.com has. However, something to note is that the site is not run on Frankly, but rather TownNews.com BLOX Content Management System.

Wonder if this is a trend for Meredith stations moving forward, moving away from Frankly to TownNews BLOX.

They look good, though WSMV had giant "sidebar" ads in the empty space on either side of at least the homepage when I looked the other day -- and it made the page look really messy.

Will the Meredith/Raycom partnership and reciprocal agreement continue? WorldNow wanted to make Raycom content available to any station that uses them.

Keep in mind that as this is happening, Raycom (which is also getting new websites) is being merged into Gray.

AZFamily.com will be the last to switch, as the format they have now they just switched to not that long ago...

That means absolutely nothing now because Meredith signed a groupwide deal with TownNews so Frankly is being kicked to the curb by the whole company.

Since Raycom is slowly kicking their longtime BFF to the curb as well....who's left as a Frankly client?

There's a bunch of smaller station groups and single-station owners who use Frankly. Lockwood comes to mind, as does KITV who tries desperately to hold on to the old Hearst design from Lakana and fails miserably on Frankly.
