ANOTHER new set for WKRG?

Watching their 10pm show, and the anchor is clearly on a different set, with a duratrans featuring their current look, and a stone column on the right. It looks like they've re-tooled their interview set they use for sponsored segments.

Their last upgrade was a little over 4 years ago, under prior ownership and news management. Given the market, it's a short lifespan for that set....WPMI and WALA's sets are over 6 years old and WEAR's set is almost a decade old (when they went HD in 2008 with their standard-issue Devlin set)

The set was a little jarring at first, but it's grown on me over the years, since it was very out of left field given how Media General was upgrading their sets at the time. Here's hoping Nexstar doesn't cheap out, but some of their recent efforts are not bad....

Dang it, it looks tiny for the team in a mini-set. But could viewers see WKRG’s look be the same like other Nexstar stations such as KSNW, KXMB, KARK or even WOWK? Wonder if Mel and Rose Ann will sit or stand?

Well, this temp set looks better than some of the permanent sets that Nexstar used to put on the air....like KOLR 10's.

WNCN was another that got a new set soon after getting one a few years ago. Of course, they've come a long way from being "WNCN", then "CBS North Carolina", and now "CBS 17"....

Well....the "new" set has arrived. It's more of a re-do of the existing set.

First impression....the anchor desk is very small and has no depth to it. They've reduced the monitor array to a 2x2 and moved the anchors to a corner where the stand-up area used to be.

The existing anchor backdrop has been re-done as a stand-up area using the original array (3x3).

Kind of like when WCMH overhauled their set....it's probably more functional, but much of the same.

And for anyone expecting a "dalek" desk....same desk as before.
