Erie-market TV and radio pioneer dies

Myron got a lot of cool stuff done in his lifetime.

I wish I knew him, think of all the fun broadcasting stories that died with him...all that knowledge.

The JET branding is priceless, and old Myron knew how to work it.

Sad yes...another pioneer gone.

Myron was a fine man and had many wonderful friends and a loving family (we assume)...

He will be missed.

Cool trivia: Myron Jones not only built WJET in Erie, he was part of a group that launched WHOT in Youngstown... which is notable for having effectively kept the same top 40 format today as it did in 1955, albeit with a few frequency upgrades and shift to FM along the way.

When your two biggest legacies in broadcasting are named JET and HOT, you've done something really special.

It was almost a year, but I kind of felt like the thread deserved a video.

This video is a special program (part 1) about JET's 50th Anniversary, Jones himself even makes one of his last appearances some point during the video.
