MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 742
Yeah not a big fan... It's as if they went online and found something for $99.
ChesapeakeTV 310
KYUR/KTBY has really gone down the tubes in the past 5-10 years on all fronts. From what I can tell, they're basically a non-factor in the ratings - and their owners seem to have increasingly tight wallets, if this is any indication. hmaxhanson 650
Both stations are down to only one 30 minute newscast nightly, could a total shutdown be on the horizon?
Sendir 192
I don’t think they have the funds (profit) to put back in these stations. Clock is ticking on operations. Prep resumes.
scrabbleship 427
What's keeping Nexstar from buying these stations that would be improved in their hands?
Webovision 202
I don’t think they have the funds (profit) to put back in these stations. Clock is ticking on operations. Prep resumes. this... the small markets are going to be the first to go... ad rates on these stations can probably be measured in the tens of dollars... What's keeping Nexstar from buying these stations that would be improved in their hands? nobody wants these stations... there is a good chance they barely break even... see above... effseesee 101
Gray owns the #1 stations in the two biggest cities in the state and grabs the lions share of the tv revenue. Denali grabs a smaller chunk of the tv revenue with its stations in Anchorage and the smaller outposts, but also owns the state's cable system, GCI. These guys may have ABC and FOX throughout the state, but they're in a knife fight with a plastic spork.
